Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s announced next game, and the studio plans to fully reveal it in 2027. Separately, Naughty Dog says it has two more The Last of Us projects in very early development—but has not announced their titles, formats, platforms, or timing.
What has Naughty Dog officially announced?
The announcements cover three projects at different stages, not three fully revealed games. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is the studio’s named next game. The two additional The Last of Us projects are described only as being in very early stages.

The distinction matters: the two The Last of Us projects are not yet named or described as specific games, shows, or other formats. In his September 28, 2026 studio update, Neil Druckmann said, “We have a couple of very exciting new projects in very early stages – so we can’t say much about them at this point.” Read Naughty Dog’s update.

Naughty Dog plans to remain quiet about Intergalactic for the rest of 2026 and fully reveal it in 2027. Druckmann said the studio would then give players a proper look at Jordan’s adventure. That is a reveal window, not a launch date; the update does not state when the game will be released.

What is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet about?
Naughty Dog announced the game on December 12, 2024, calling it a new franchise and a character-driven science-fiction adventure. It follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria. The planet’s communications with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years earlier, and people who traveled there seeking its past were never heard from again. Jordan hopes to become the first person in more than 600 years to leave its orbit. The original announcement identifies PlayStation 5 as the development platform. Read the announcement.
Who is involved?
Tati Gabrielle performs Jordan A. Mun. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are announced as score collaborators. Naughty Dog said further cast details would come later. Druckmann also described the gameplay ambitions as the deepest in the studio’s history; that is his characterization, not a published or independently measured comparison.

What is known—and unknown—about the new Last of Us projects?
Druckmann’s update says the two early-stage projects will expand the The Last of Us canon beyond Parts I and II. It gives no project titles, formats, platforms, plot details, or schedules. The studio has not identified them as released or near-release products, so there is not yet enough official information to assess what form either project will take.
