Seeing Machines is the closest specialist analogue to Mobileye in driver-monitoring systems (DMS) if you mean an automotive perception company focused on embedded DMS software and silicon for OEM and Tier-1 integration. Smart Eye is the strongest alternative when reported design wins and vehicles on the road matter most. Mobileye itself is entering the category, with a DMS award aimed at production in 2027.
What “the Mobileye of DMS” actually means
Mobileye became a reference point for camera-based automotive perception by combining algorithms, dedicated EyeQ processors and large OEM programs. Applying that analogy to DMS requires separating three different questions:
- Which supplier is most focused on embedded driver monitoring?
- Which company reports the largest deployment or design-win footprint?
- Which platform can combine DMS with broader ADAS and vehicle-computing functions?
No published source establishes comparable, independently audited market shares or accuracy results for all suppliers. The best answer therefore depends on the criterion rather than on a single league-table ranking.
Closest specialist match: Seeing Machines
Seeing Machines most closely fits the focused-supplier interpretation. Its FOVIO platform includes embedded DMS software and a chip platform intended for automotive integration. That is structurally similar to the specialist perception-and-processing model associated with Mobileye, although the companies’ product portfolios and market positions are not identical.

Seeing Machines’ FY2024 presentation reported more than 2.2 million cars on the road as of June 30, 2024. It also said the company was engaged by 11 global automotive OEMs across 18 programs at that time. Those are company-reported figures with a stated date; they should not be compared as if they were the same metric as another supplier’s design-win count.
Why it fits the analogy
- Embedded software is designed for integration into production vehicle electronics.
- FOVIO includes a dedicated chip option as well as software.
- The company’s core identity is automotive perception, rather than a general-purpose interior-electronics portfolio.
Where the comparison breaks down
Seeing Machines also operates Guardian, an aftermarket and fleet-oriented business. That channel is relevant to commercial fleets but does not make Guardian an equivalent to an OEM production DMS program.
Strongest scale alternative: Smart Eye
Smart Eye is a compelling answer when “Mobileye of DMS” means demonstrated OEM reach. In a June 30, 2026 announcement, the company reported 376 DMS design wins from 24 OEMs. Its automotive page, accessed in 2026, reports 380 production car models and more than 6 million cars on the road.

These figures come from Smart Eye and use different presentation contexts. A design win is not the same as a vehicle already in production, and the dated announcement and current webpage are not perfectly time-aligned. Smart Eye also estimated SEK 50 million in product-lifecycle revenue for four new models; that is a projection based on expected lifecycle volumes, not booked revenue.
What Smart Eye supplies
Smart Eye describes algorithms that analyze eye, face, head and body movement to infer conditions such as alertness, attention and focus. Its broader interior-sensing offer can also analyze passenger, pet and object positions. The company additionally describes a plug-and-play fleet product, giving it a channel beyond passenger-car OEM supply programs.
Mobileye is becoming a DMS supplier
On March 23, 2026, Mobileye announced a DMS award from an unnamed leading U.S. automaker. The program is targeted to begin production in 2027 and is expected to cover millions of vehicles. At the time of the announcement, this was a forward-looking award, not an established DMS production footprint.

- Our 4-channel Gunmetal dash cam features a 3-inch IPS screen and four simultaneous lenses, allowing for high-definition recording of the front, rear, left, and right sides of your vehicle. With a clear 4K front-facing camera and three adjustable 1080P lenses, it captures every crucial detail, eliminating blind spots and giving you peace of mind on the road.
Mobileye says its DMS/occupant-monitoring functions can run alongside ADAS perception on EyeQ6 Lite or EyeQ 6 High. Its stated approach correlates driver gaze and attention with road context, using exterior perception to assess whether the driver is responding appropriately to events outside the cabin. The company also says consolidating DMS/OMS and ADAS processing can reduce the need for separate hardware.

For an OEM consolidating DMS with ADAS compute
Mobileye’s proposition is integration: DMS/OMS and ADAS perception on EyeQ hardware. Its announced U.S. automaker program shows strategic entry into DMS, but the cited evidence does not yet establish a comparable production install base.
For fleets
Fleet buyers should distinguish OEM-embedded systems from aftermarket or plug-and-play products. Smart Eye describes a fleet offering, while Seeing Machines describes Guardian in its aftermarket business. These products address operational deployment rather than the same procurement process as a factory-installed passenger-car system.
What the market data can—and cannot—prove
One commercial market report estimated the global DMS market at USD 3.03 billion in 2024 and forecast USD 8.10 billion by 2033, implying an 11.7% CAGR from 2025 to 2033. Those are the publisher’s estimates and forecast, not an audited census of supplier revenue or market share.
The same report lists Valeo, Denso, Bosch, Seeing Machines, Continental, Smart Eye, Aptiv, Magna, Visteon and Lytx among key participants. That is one report’s competitive set, not a universally accepted ranking or exhaustive list.
Bottom line for buyers and analysts
Call Seeing Machines the “Mobileye of DMS” when the analogy means a specialist embedded perception-and-chip supplier. Choose Smart Eye as the leading alternative when reported OEM design wins and deployment scale are the deciding evidence. Treat Mobileye as an emerging integrated competitor whose announced DMS program is aimed at 2027 production, rather than as the established DMS leader today.
None of these conclusions establishes the largest audited market share, superior algorithm accuracy or lower cost. Those comparisons are not supported by the published evidence cited here.
