Absurd Ventures ist Housers neues Unternehmen nach seinem Abschied von Rockstar. Was bedeutet Housers „living sitcom“ für das Absurdaverse-Spiel?
Absurd Ventures kündigte das Projekt als storygetriebenes Action-Comedy-Adventure an. Houser beschrieb es als „a living sitcom“ und sagte, es sei „a completely gamey game – very mechanics driven“ (The Guardian, 15. Dezember 2025). Das deutet auf ein Spiel hin, bei dem komödiantische Erzählung und Spielmechanik zusammenkommen sollen; es verrät aber nicht, wie diese Mechaniken funktionieren. Angaben zu konkreten Aktivitäten, Figuren oder Missionen liegen nicht vor.

Der erkennbare Gegensatz liegt derzeit vor allem in Ton und Ausgangsmaterial: A Better Paradise setzt bei einer gescheiterten digitalen Welt und einer KI an; das Absurdaverse-Projekt ist als Action-Komödie und Satire angelegt. Einen belastbaren Vergleich konkreter Spielmechaniken gibt es nicht, weil nur für das Absurdaverse-Spiel eine mechanikgetriebene Ausrichtung beschrieben wurde.

Absurd Ventures erzählt auch außerhalb von Spielen
Ein Beispiel für die medienübergreifende Ausrichtung ist American Caper, eine von Houser und Lazlow entwickelte Comicreihe bei Dark Horse Comics. GamesBeat beschrieb sie im September 2026 als satirische Geschichte im ländlichen Wyoming über Kriminalität, politischen Extremismus, Sucht und Gier. Das ist ein weiteres Absurd-Ventures-Projekt, aber kein Beleg dafür, dass American Caper zu einem der beiden genannten Spiele gehört (GamesBeat, 16. September 2026).
