Murata’s SAFEA2G45AC0F00 was a 2.4 GHz SAW filter announced for high-power use directly after a power amplifier (PA). In a 2009 announcement reproduced by EE Times, Murata said the filter could replace two interstage filters with one component. The power-endurance figures belong to that historical part; they are not specifications for every current Murata filter.
What “high power capability” meant
A Bluetooth or Wi-Fi radio’s PA boosts the outgoing RF signal. A filter placed immediately after that amplifier must tolerate the resulting power while passing the intended 2.4 GHz signal and suppressing unwanted energy. Murata’s announcement described the SAFEA2G45AC0F00 as suitable for this post-PA position, allowing a design to replace two interstage filters with one component. That is a potential reduction in filter count, not a guarantee that every radio can remove two filters without redesign.
Murata reported endurance of +27 dBm for 500 hours or +24 dBm for 5,000 hours, at temperatures up to 85 °C. The announcement also gave a nominal center frequency of 2450 MHz, typical insertion loss of 1.7 dB and typical VSWR of 1.4. These are announcement-era figures for SAFEA2G45AC0F00, not guaranteed ratings for newer related devices.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi operate in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. A surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter uses acoustic-wave resonance on a piezoelectric substrate to pass a chosen RF band and reject signals outside it. In a compact radio, the aim is to limit interference from nearby frequencies without losing too much of the desired signal in the filter.

Murata’s I.H.P. SAW technology is intended to provide high Q, steep filter skirts, low insertion loss and stable temperature behavior. In a 2017 release, Murata described a 1.1 × 0.9 mm ISM 2.4 GHz SAW filter family and said its I.H.P. SAW technology improved steepness, insertion loss and temperature stability compared with conventional models: Murata’s 2017 announcement. The stated package size refers to that family, not necessarily to every part discussed here.
What current Murata documentation shows
Murata currently lists the SAFQA2G45MA0G0A as an unbalanced ISM 2.4 GHz post-PA filter. Its product page gives maximum dimensions of 1.10 × 0.90 × 0.6 mm and lists sample and tape-and-reel packaging: SAFQA2G45MA0G0A product page. A related part, SAFEA2G45MB0F0A, has a Murata datasheet with a 2442 MHz center frequency, WLAN-channel insertion-loss and VSWR limits, attenuation bands, and an operating range of −30 to +85 °C: SAFEA2G45MB0F0A datasheet.
These examples show that Murata has related 2.4 GHz SAW products and publishable electrical specifications; they do not establish that SAFEA2G45AC0F00 remains in production or that a current variant shares its historical power-endurance ratings. The two named current-documentation examples also have different part numbers and documented details, so neither should be treated as a drop-in replacement on name or band alone.

- Input-power endurance: Confirm continuous and burst power limits, test duration, and temperature conditions. Do not transfer the 2009 endurance figures to another part.
- Passband: Match center frequency and channel coverage, then review insertion loss and ripple across the channels the device must support.
- Out-of-band rejection: Check attenuation at the frequencies relevant to the design’s interference environment.
- RF interface: Confirm whether the filter is balanced or unbalanced, along with impedance and VSWR requirements.
- Physical and environmental fit: Compare package dimensions, height, land pattern and operating-temperature range.
- Availability: Verify production status and supply with Murata or an authorized distributor; a product page alone does not confirm live stock.
A filter’s center frequency or “2.4 GHz” label is not enough to establish compatibility. Small differences in passband, matching, package footprint or power handling can affect performance or prevent a direct board-level replacement.

For a current Murata post-PA 2.4 GHz option, the SAFQA2G45MA0G0A is a clearly named product to investigate. Use its product documentation and the target design’s requirements to verify fit; consult the SAFEA2G45MB0F0A datasheet only when that specific part is under consideration. The available documentation does not identify either as a formally designated replacement for SAFEA2G45AC0F00.
For procurement, check Murata’s sample or quotation route or an authorized RF-component distributor. Confirm the exact part number and seller before ordering; stock and pricing are not established by the product specifications cited here.
