Munch the Fox is Ohio’s child nutrition mascot, but the available public information does not establish what “PV” means or identify which food providers took part in the visit described by this title. The confirmed context is Ohio’s Farm to School work: Munch appears at school food events, while documented examples from other Ohio communities show how local produce can feature in meals and taste tests.
Who is Munch the Fox?
An Ohio Department of Agriculture newsletter published in 2023 identified Munch the Fox as the official mascot of the Ohio Department of Education Office of Nutrition. It said Munch was available for Farm to School events such as local menu days, taste tests and garden events. The newsletter described a visit-request form at that time; it does not establish whether that process is still current. Read the Ohio Farm to School newsletter.
What is confirmed about the PV visit?
The available records do not verify what “PV” stands for, the date or location of this specific visit, or the names of the participating food providers. Those details should not be inferred from events in other Ohio districts. Without a primary announcement or confirmation from the organizer, it is accurate to describe the visit as a local-food celebration but not to name its vendors or produce.
How other Ohio school events have featured local food
These separate examples illustrate the broader Farm to School context. They are not evidence about PV’s event.

| Wellington | Local lettuce from Tyler’s Farm | A taste test planned for March 18, 2025 | The Ohio Farm to School newsletter described the taste test as planned; that notice alone does not confirm it occurred. Ohio Farm to School quarterly newsletter. |
| Horizon Education Centers | Local apples from Royalton Farms | A CACFP snack; the newsletter does not state a date in the supplied item | The newsletter reported that the apples were sourced locally for a snack. This is a separate example, not part of the PV visit. Ohio Farm to School quarterly newsletter. |
What the statewide program says about local foods
The 2024–2025 Totally Tasty report says participating schools served fresh, healthy foods and local foods when available. It also thanks the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for sending Munch to celebrate the events. The report offers statewide program context, not details about PV or its providers. Read the Feed Our Future report.
What would verify the PV story?
A district or organizer announcement would need to identify the full name behind “PV,” the event date and location, and the providers or foods involved. Until a source confirms those specifics, the other Ohio examples are useful context only; they should not be presented as participants in the PV visit.
