The MSI MPG B760M EDGE TI WIFI is a feature-rich micro-ATX choice for a compact white Intel PC: it supports 12th-, 13th- and 14th-gen LGA1700 processors, DDR5, three M.2 drives, Wi-Fi 6E and a PCIe 5.0 graphics slot. Its main trade-offs are that B760 is not a Z-series chipset for CPU overclocking, and the available independent review evidence is limited to one test configuration.
What board is this—and is it the Mortar?
The official model name is MSI MPG B760M EDGE TI WIFI. Although the supplied title calls it “Mortar Edge Ti,” MSI’s naming identifies this board as an MPG EDGE model, not part of the separate MAG B760M Mortar family. Check the full model name when comparing listings or looking for specifications.
It is a 243.84 × 243.84 mm micro-ATX motherboard for Intel’s LGA1700 platform. MSI positions its silver-white styling for compact white builds. That makes it a plausible fit where board color and a smaller case matter as much as expansion and networking; it is not a board for a newer CPU socket.

Processor compatibility
MSI lists Intel Core 12th-, 13th- and 14th-gen processors, plus Pentium Gold and Celeron processors for LGA1700. That covers a broad range of Intel CPUs on this socket, but does not make the board compatible with later socket generations. B760 is also not the chipset to choose if you specifically want CPU overclocking through a Z-series platform.
#1 Best Overall
- Supports 12th/13th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors for LGA 1700 socket
- Supports DDR4 Memory, Dual Channel DDR4 4800+MHz (OC)
- Core Boost : With premium layout and digital power design to support more cores and provide better performance
- Memory Boost: Advanced technology to deliver pure data signals for the best performance, stability and compatibility
- Lightning Fast Experience: PCIe 4.0, Lightning Gen4 x4 M.2 with M.2 Shield Frozr
DDR5 capacity and rated speed
There are four DDR5 UDIMM slots, with a maximum listed capacity of 256GB. MSI rates overclocked memory support up to 7800+ MHz; this is a rated ceiling, not a guarantee that every memory kit and CPU will run at that speed. The supported ceiling varies with whether one or two DIMMs per channel are installed, and actual compatibility depends on the modules and system configuration. Check the memory kit against MSI’s current compatibility information before buying.
How much storage and expansion does it provide?
| Connection | Specification | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| M.2_1 | PCIe 4.0 x4 | NVMe storage socket |
| M.2_2 | PCIe 4.0 x4 | NVMe storage socket |
| M.2_3 | PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA mode | Supports an NVMe or SATA-mode M.2 drive |
| SATA | Six SATA 6Gb/s ports; RAID 0/1/5/10 listed | For SATA SSDs or hard drives |
| Primary expansion slot | CPU-connected PCIe 5.0 x16 | Graphics-card slot |
| Secondary expansion slot | Chipset-connected PCIe 3.0 x4 | For an add-in card; it is not a second PCIe 5.0 x16 slot |
Three M.2 sockets give the board useful room for multiple NVMe drives without consuming the SATA connections. MSI also advertises a screwless M.2 Shield Frozr design. The lane specifications above describe the slots; they do not establish that every slot can operate without sharing or configuration trade-offs in every drive arrangement.

What rear connections and networking are included?
| Area | Listed connections and features |
|---|---|
| USB | Four USB 2.0 Type-A, three USB 10Gbps Type-A, one USB 20Gbps Type-C |
| Display | HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 |
| Networking | 2.5GbE LAN; Wi-Fi 6E with antenna connectors; Bluetooth |
| Audio and setup | Optical S/PDIF, audio jacks and Clear CMOS button |
MSI lists Wi-Fi 6E throughput up to 2.4Gbps; that is a manufacturer-listed maximum, not a promise of real-world transfer speed, which depends on the router, signal, client and environment. Internal headers add front-panel USB, fan and pump connections, RGB, TPM 2.0 and a USB4-card connector. A USB4-card header is an expansion provision, not a built-in rear USB4 port.

MSI specifies a 12+1+1 Duet Rail power design with 75A DrMOS, dual 8-pin CPU power connectors, a six-layer PCB with 2oz copper, extended heatsinks and 7W/mK MOSFET thermal pads. It also lists M.2 Shield Frozr for drive cooling. These are design specifications from the manufacturer, not independent temperature or power-delivery measurements; they should not be treated as proof of a particular CPU temperature or overclocking result.

What does independent testing say?
PCMENA’s review, published September 20, 2024, tested the board with an Intel Core i5-13600K and DDR5-6000. In that setup, the reviewer reported solid CPU, memory and NVMe performance and smooth gaming, and praised the feature set and value. The review also named limited RGB options and the lack of an audiophile-oriented integrated sound solution as drawbacks. These are the findings of one outlet using one stated configuration, not a broad comparison across boards or a guarantee of performance with every processor and game.

This board is most compelling if the build combines a compact white case, a 12th–14th-gen Intel LGA1700 processor, DDR5, several M.2 drives and a need for Wi-Fi 6E or 2.5GbE. Before choosing it over another board, compare the following:
Rank #4
- Intel LGA 1700 Socket: Ready for Intel Core 14th & 13th Gen Processors, Intel Core 12th Gen, Pentium Gold and Celeron Processors
- Ultrafast Connectivity: PCIe 5.0, two M.2 slots, Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, rear USB 5Gbps Type-A, front USB 5Gbps support
- Comprehensive Cooling: VRM heatsink, PCH heatsink, hybrid fan headers and Fan Xpert 2+
- Aura Sync RGB Lighting: Onboard Addressable Gen 2 headers for RGB LED strips, easily synced with Aura Sync-capable hardware
- Platform: Confirm that your processor is LGA1700 and among the generations MSI lists. For CPU overclocking, compare a Z-series option instead.
- Memory: Check the exact kit and intended number of DIMMs against the board’s compatibility information; the advertised top speed is an overclocked rating.
- Expansion: Match the number and PCIe generation of M.2 sockets and add-in-card slots to your planned drives and cards.
- Connectivity: Check that the rear USB mix, display outputs, audio connections and networking meet your needs. If premium onboard audio is a priority, compare the specific audio implementation on alternatives.
- Fit and appearance: Verify that a 243.84 mm-square micro-ATX board suits the case and that the silver-white design works with the rest of the build.
- Purchase terms: Compare the current price and warranty for your region and seller. Neither a current street price nor warranty quality is established here.
Consider another platform if you need a newer CPU socket, or prioritize premium onboard audio or CPU overclocking over this board’s white styling and connectivity mix.
