The MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 is a 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor built around a 240Hz refresh rate, exceptionally fast pixel response, and a broad set of connections—including DisplayPort 2.1a and 98W USB-C power delivery. Reviewers praise its brighter full-screen image and reduced bright-room color tint, but its glossy surface can reflect nearby light, and its premium price makes value a key consideration.
What is the MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24?
It is a flat, 31.5-inch (marketed as 32-inch) monitor with a 3840×2160 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and QD-OLED panel. Its 240Hz refresh rate targets high-frame-rate PC gaming, while MSI specifies a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. Adaptive Sync and HDR support are also listed by MSI.
The X24 is a distinct model, not a refresh of the MPG 321URX or MPG 322URX. Its feature set also should not be conflated with the related MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24: MSI says the MAG lacks the MPG model’s AI Care Sensor and lists 15W rather than 98W Type-C power delivery for it.
What changed with the X24 panel?
MSI describes the display as a fourth-generation QD-OLED panel using Penta Tandem technology. The company claims a 30% increase in light efficiency, while its DarkArmor Film is claimed to deliver 40% deeper blacks and 2.5 times better scratch resistance. These are MSI’s published claims, not independent test measurements. MSI also lists Uniform Luminance, a customizable HDR curve and OLED Care 3.0 features.
#1 Best Overall
- Samsung’s 32” Odyssey G5 QHD Gaming Monitor delivers brilliant visuals for exhilarating gameplay that’s more immersive than ever before.
- QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) boasts incredibly detailed, pin-sharp images.
- With a wide 178° viewing angle, the IPS panel consistently delivers crisp, clear hues from various viewpoints.
- 180Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms response time (GtG) allow fast reactions for ultra-smooth gaming, plus G-Sync compatibility syncs the GPU and panel to reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing.
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth.
Reviewers found more practical evidence of a brighter full-screen image and less of the purple tint QD-OLED can show in bright ambient light. PC Gamer reports a 300-nit full-screen rating, compared with 250 nits for the previous generation, plus a 1,000-nit peak HDR rating for a small window and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. It says the filter reduces the ambient-light tint but does not eliminate all QD-OLED limitations. TechRadar similarly notes improved brightness and tint handling, while pointing out that the glossy coating can make reflections more noticeable.
How good is it for 4K gaming?
The combination of 4K resolution and 240Hz gives the X24 room for detailed images and very high refresh rates, while OLED’s fast pixel response is suited to motion-heavy games. Tom’s Hardware highlights color accuracy and the monitor’s broad feature set; PC Gamer describes the panel as bright and fast. Those are reviewer assessments, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or image in every setup.

- Dual Mode – Easily switch between different resolutions and refresh rates, allowing user to adjust settings based on the game
- 0.5ms (GtG, Min.) Response Time – Eliminates screen tearing and choppy frame rates
- Console Mode – Optimized for seamless compatibility with gaming consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X | S
- IPS Panel for better color contrast & accuracy
- Height adjustable arm
To make use of 4K at high refresh rates, a PC needs a graphics card capable of rendering the games at the desired frame rate. The monitor’s 240Hz ceiling cannot make a game run at 240 frames per second on its own. For demanding games, buyers may need to adjust graphics settings or use upscaling, depending on their hardware and preferred image quality.

The 1,000-nit figure reported by PC Gamer is a small-window peak, not the brightness of the entire screen; PC Gamer lists 300 nits for full-screen brightness. In a bright room, the revised filter may reduce the familiar QD-OLED purple cast, but glossy reflections remain a separate consideration.

What connections and adjustments does it offer?
The port selection can support a gaming desktop alongside a USB-C laptop or other device. Tom’s Hardware lists two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 98W power delivery, one USB upstream port, two USB downstream ports, and a headphone output. It reports no integrated speakers.
MSI lists a 100×100mm VESA mounting pattern and stand adjustments for height, swivel, tilt and pivot. That gives buyers options for positioning the display on its stand or a compatible VESA mount.

What are the main trade-offs?
- Price: The high-end 4K OLED specification comes at a premium. PC Gamer flags the price as a concern for bargain-minded buyers, and TechRadar’s review scorecard gives value 3/5.
- Reflections: The glossy surface can reflect windows, lamps and other bright objects. Room lighting and monitor placement matter if reflections would distract you.
- OLED expectations: Reviewers found improvements to brightness and ambient-light tint, not a removal of every QD-OLED limitation. HDR peak brightness applies to a small window, rather than the full panel.
- Audio: Tom’s Hardware lists no built-in speakers, so plan to use headphones or separate speakers if you need audio.
- Warranty terms vary: MSI’s US store lists a three-year warranty that includes OLED burn-in coverage. Confirm the warranty, eligibility and exclusions that apply in your region before buying.

Who should buy the MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24?
It makes sense if you want
- A 31.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and fast pixel response.
- QD-OLED image quality with improved full-screen brightness and reduced ambient-light purple tint, as described by reviewers.
- DisplayPort 2.1a, two HDMI 2.1 inputs and USB-C with up to 98W power delivery in one monitor.
- A flexible stand, VESA mounting, and—in the US store listing—a three-year warranty that includes burn-in coverage.
Consider another option if
- You prioritize a lower purchase price over the combination of 4K, 240Hz and OLED.
- Your room has bright light sources that would be difficult to keep out of the glossy screen’s reflections.
- Your PC cannot drive the games you play at the frame rates you want at 4K, and you do not want to lower settings or use upscaling.
When comparing alternatives, check the exact resolution and refresh rate, your PC’s performance at 4K, OLED behavior in your room, connection needs such as USB-C charging, and the local warranty terms. A price comparison is meaningful only when it reflects current listings for the same class of display.
