The MSI Claw A8 BZ2EM pairs an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with 24GB of LPDDR5x memory, 1TB of storage, and an 8-inch 120Hz-capable display. MSI describes it as the first handheld in its own lineup equipped with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme—not the first Ryzen handheld overall. The specifications below are MSI’s published U.S. product details; they do not establish independent performance results.
What processor does the MSI Claw A8 use?
The Claw A8 BZ2EM uses AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and integrated Radeon 890M graphics, according to MSI’s U.S. specification page. MSI introduced it on August 7, 2025, as “the very first MSI handheld equipped with the AMD Ryzen™ Z2 Extreme Processor.” That is a claim about MSI’s handheld lineup, not about Ryzen-powered handhelds generally. MSI’s announcement and setup guide also includes a comparison against a Ryzen Z1 Extreme configuration; those are MSI’s own test results, not independent benchmarks.
Does the MSI Claw A8 have 24GB of RAM?
Yes. MSI lists 24GB of LPDDR5x memory on the U.S. BZ2EM specification page. The listed configurations also include a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and Windows 11 Home. MSI’s page shows three U.S. variants—BZ2EM-065US, BZ2EM-070US, and BZ2EM-077US—with color associations that vary by SKU. Confirm the exact model and its specifications in your market before buying.
What are the Claw A8 BZ2EM’s listed specifications?
These are manufacturer-listed specifications for the U.S. BZ2EM models, not results from independent testing.

How long does the Claw A8 battery last?
There is no single playtime figure that applies to every game or setting. MSI reports at least 19 hours of 1080p video playback under a specified test setup, and separately describes around 3.5 hours of Diablo IV gameplay in Endurance Mode. Both are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements, and neither figure should be read as typical gaming runtime.

For the video-playback claim, MSI describes a tested configuration using the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, a 60Hz FHD display, 1TB SSD, 24GB RAM, 150 cd/m² brightness, disabled lighting and Bluetooth, and Endurance Mode. That controlled setup differs from the listed display’s maximum refresh rate and from demanding gameplay. Actual runtime varies with workload and configuration.
Is the Ryzen Claw A8 faster than the Intel Claw?
The official material cited here does not establish an independent head-to-head verdict between the Ryzen Claw A8 and Intel-based Claw models, or other handhelds. MSI publishes game-specific percentage comparisons between the Z2 Extreme Claw A8 and a Ryzen Z1 Extreme configuration: The Talos Principle 2 +32%, Starfield +23%, Black Myth: Wukong +22%, F1 24 +18%, and Forspoken +17%. MSI says those tests used 1080p/Low, FSR enabled, frame generation when applicable, and Manual Mode at 17/28/33W. They are vendor-controlled comparisons against that particular configuration, not evidence of how the A8 compares with Intel Claw models.

A useful comparison requires the same game, resolution, graphics preset, power mode, upscaling and frame-generation settings, and test duration. Battery mode also matters for runtime comparisons. For practical buying decisions, compare memory, display, battery capacity, weight and ergonomics, storage, ports, operating system, local price, and availability as well as processor performance.
Which BZ2EM model should you check?
MSI’s U.S. specifications page lists BZ2EM-065US, BZ2EM-070US, and BZ2EM-077US. The U.S. store page showed the BZ2EM-070US at $1,299 and in stock when accessed; that is a time-sensitive listing for one U.S. SKU, not a stable MSRP or a price for every region. Check the current listing and the exact SKU before purchase.
