To copy pictures from a Motorola Razr to a Windows PC, connect the phone with a data-capable USB cable, unlock it, choose File transfer on the phone, then copy photos from the phone in File Explorer. Camera photos are usually in DCIM/Camera.
Transfer Razr pictures to a Windows PC with USB

Turn on and unlock your Razr. Connect it to the PC with a USB cable that supports data transfer; some cables charge only. Motorola notes that the phone must be unlocked and USB access changed to a transfer mode before files appear (Motorola Support).

On the phone, open the USB notification, often labeled Charging this device via USB, and choose File transfer. Menu wording can vary by Razr generation and Android version. Choose PTP instead if you want a photo-and-video-only connection.

On the PC, open File Explorer and select the phone from the device list. Browse its internal storage. Camera photos are commonly in
DCIM/Camera; checkPicturesand app-specific folders for edited or app-saved images.#1 Best Overall

Select the pictures, copy them, and paste them into a folder on the PC. Keep the originals on the phone until you have opened the PC copies and confirmed they transferred correctly.
Choose the right USB mode
| Mode | Use it for | What to expect |

If the PC does not show the Razr or its pictures

The phone charges but no files appear: Unlock the phone and change its USB mode from charging to File transfer or PTP.

The USB mode is correct but the phone is still missing: Try another cable that supports data transfer and, if available, another compatible USB port. A cable that only charges cannot transfer files.

The phone appears but the camera folder looks empty: Check
DCIM,Pictures, and app-specific folders. Images saved or edited by apps may not be inDCIM/Camera.Rank #3

You need other file types too: Switch from PTP to File transfer, which exposes general phone storage.
Other ways to get pictures onto a computer
Mac
Motorola’s current general support guidance suggests Mac transfer apps such as OpenMTP or MacDroid. Check each app’s current availability and compatibility with your Mac and Razr before installing it. An older Razr user guide mentions Android File Transfer, but that historical reference does not establish that it remains a current option.

Google Drive
If a cable is unavailable or you want the images accessible across devices, upload them to Google Drive from the phone and download them on the computer. This requires a network connection and involves an upload followed by a download, so USB is generally more direct for a large batch.
Smart Connect
Motorola lists Smart Connect as a Windows integration option. It is not required for the USB copy procedure above.
