The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra has a larger inner display, a higher stated battery capacity and faster advertised wired charging. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is lighter and has a slightly larger cover-screen diagonal. In the cited US price listings, the Razr costs about $100 more—but that comparison pairs its 512 GB configuration with a 256 GB Flip8, so it is not a like-for-like storage match.
Motorola Razr 60 Ultra vs. Galaxy Z Flip8 at a glance
The Razr 60 Ultra was announced in 2025; Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip8 is a 2026 model. Motorola’s US announcement calls its phone the “razr ultra,” while other markets and comparison listings use “Razr 60 Ultra.” The table uses the names in the title and identifies the source of each figure.

Price difference: the Razr listing is about $100 higher
For the cited US listings, PhoneArena gives the Razr 60 Ultra a $1,300 MSRP and the 12 GB/256 GB Galaxy Z Flip8 a $1,200 price. That is a nominal $100 gap. Samsung’s US product page lists the Flip8 from $1,199.99 before trade-in. These are not equivalent storage configurations: the Razr figure is for 512 GB, while the cited Flip8 price is for 256 GB. Samsung also offers a 512 GB option, but the cited material does not establish its price.

Displays: larger inner screen on Motorola, slightly larger cover diagonal on Samsung
Motorola lists a 7-inch inner pOLED and 4-inch external display for the Razr 60 Ultra. Samsung lists the Flip8’s open display at 6.9 inches and its closed display at 4.1 inches. The inner-screen diagonals are close; Samsung’s listed cover-screen diagonal is 0.1 inch larger.
Those measurements do not establish which screen is brighter, easier to use in sunlight, has a less visible crease or renders color more accurately. Nor do diagonal measurements alone show which cover screen supports the apps and interactions you need. The cited specifications do not provide a controlled display-quality or cover-screen usability comparison.

Battery and charging: compare capacity, not assumed runtime
Motorola specifies a 4,700 mAh battery for the Razr 60 Ultra; Samsung lists 4,300 mAh for the Flip8. Capacity is not a battery-life test, so the figures alone cannot show which phone lasts longer in daily use. Motorola claims the Razr delivers “over 36 hours of battery life on a single charge”; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent test result.
Motorola advertises 68 W TurboPower wired charging. A directly comparable Samsung charging wattage is not stated in the Samsung product material cited here, so these sources do not support a numerical charging-speed comparison.

Weight and durability
Samsung lists the Flip8 at 180 g, while PhoneArena lists the Razr 60 Ultra at 199 g—a 19 g difference in favor of Samsung based on those cited figures. Weight is measurable, but whether the difference feels meaningful depends on how and how long you hold the phone.
Motorola says the Razr has an IP48 rating and describes its hinge construction. Samsung highlights its Armor FlexHinge and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover screen. These are manufacturer specifications and descriptions, not results from a head-to-head drop, hinge-cycle or water-resistance test. Samsung calls the Flip8 “our thinnest and lightest Flip”; that is Samsung’s own comparison, rather than an independent durability or comfort finding.
Rank #4
- Universal unlocked: Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and other prepaid carriers.
Cameras: headline counts do not settle image quality
Motorola describes a triple 50 MP camera system. Samsung lists a 50 MP wide camera, and PhoneArena identifies both phones as dual-camera models. These descriptions do not provide a like-for-like assessment of image quality. Megapixel counts and camera count cannot establish which phone takes better photos; that requires comparable results across camera modes and conditions, which the cited specifications do not supply.
Which foldable should you choose?
- Consider the Razr 60 Ultra if the larger listed inner-screen diagonal, 4,700 mAh stated capacity, 68 W advertised wired charging or 512 GB configuration in the cited comparison matters most to you.
- Consider the Galaxy Z Flip8 if lower listed weight, a marginally larger cover-screen diagonal or Samsung’s 512 GB storage option is more appealing. Check the price of that storage tier in your region before comparing it with the Razr.
- Do not choose on battery life, camera quality or durability from these specifications alone. The cited figures and manufacturer descriptions are not independent, matched tests of real-world performance.
For a fair purchase comparison, match region, storage capacity and sales channel, then check current unlocked and carrier prices. The available figures make the core trade-off clear, but they do not establish a universal winner.
