The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra (sold as the Razr Ultra 2025 in some markets) has the more aggressive hardware on paper: a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB of RAM, higher listed camera resolutions, a larger battery and faster listed charging. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is slimmer and lighter when folded, has a slightly larger cover screen and, according to Android Central, a longer Android-upgrade commitment. In the cited US launch comparison, Samsung also had the lower starting price. The better choice depends on your priorities, country and storage tier—not a single spec-sheet winner.

Which phone is better for your priorities?

Choose the Razr for hardware-sheet advantages

The Razr pairs the Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB of RAM, compared with the Flip 7’s Exynos 2500 and 12GB. It also lists a 50MP ultrawide and 50MP inner selfie camera, while Samsung lists 12MP and 10MP for those cameras. The Razr’s main display is 7.0 inches and listed up to 165Hz; the Flip 7’s is 6.9 inches and up to 120Hz. Those numbers favor Motorola on paper, but they do not establish real-world speed, image quality or display usability. Camera output depends on optics, image processing and shooting conditions, so check sample images if photography is a deciding factor. Neither cited comparison identifies a telephoto camera.

Choose the Flip 7 for a slimmer, lighter folded phone

Samsung’s listed folded body is 13.7mm thick and weighs 188g, versus 15.7mm and 199g for the Razr. The Flip 7’s cover screen is also marginally larger at 4.1 inches versus 4.0 inches. The Razr comparison lists a higher cover-screen refresh rate—up to 165Hz, against the Flip’s reported 60Hz or 120Hz—but refresh rate alone does not settle which cover screen is more useful. Consider how each feels in a pocket, including the case you plan to use.

Choose based on how long you plan to keep it

Android Central reports three Android OS upgrades for the Razr and seven for the Flip 7. That reported commitment gives Samsung the advantage for buyers who value a longer stated upgrade horizon. Check the support terms and update status for the exact regional model before buying; the cited figures are not a substitute for current local terms.

Price difference: compare the same market and storage

These are reported US launch prices, not verified October 2026 street prices. Android Central lists the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB, both with 12GB of RAM. TechRadar reports US Samsung launch prices of $1,099 and $1,219 for those storage tiers and says the Razr Ultra started higher. The cited material does not give a matching, exact Razr price for those tiers, so it cannot establish a precise like-for-like dollar difference.

Price rankings can change by country and storage. TechRadar notes that the UK 512GB Razr price was lower than the 512GB Samsung price. Treat these figures as launch-price reporting, not a current quote; check local retailer or official-store listings for current stock and price. Do not use a currency conversion as though it were an official regional price.

Battery, charging and durability

Battery capacity is not the same as battery life

The Razr is listed with a 4,700mAh battery and the Flip 7 with 4,300mAh. TechRadar’s comparison gives the Razr 68W wired, 30W wireless and 5W reverse wireless charging; it gives the Samsung 25W, 15W and 4.5W respectively. Android Central’s Samsung wired-charging figure differs, so treat that specific rate as unresolved here and verify the manufacturer specification for your market if it matters. Capacity and charging rates alone do not predict runtime: the cited independent review impressions favored Motorola’s endurance, but individual results vary with use.

Understand what the protection ratings do—and do not—mean

Samsung’s US product page lists IP48 protection, an Armor Aluminum frame, Armor FlexHinge and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Independent coverage reports IP48 for the Razr Ultra 2025, but the cited material does not establish official Motorola durability details. These are specifications, not guarantees against damage. Samsung describes the Flip 7’s redesigned cover screen as having its slimmest bezel yet and enabling more use from FlexWindow; that is Samsung’s product claim, not an independent comparative finding.

Buying checks before you decide

  • Confirm the local retail name: Motorola uses “Razr 60 Ultra” in some regions and “Razr Ultra 2025” in others. Match the exact name and SKU to the market where you are buying.
  • Compare the same storage tier and market, and distinguish launch prices from current offers.
  • If buying a case or screen protector, choose a listing that explicitly names your exact phone model. The two phones are not accessory-interchangeable.
  • Check regional support terms, included accessories and current availability directly with the seller or manufacturer; the cited comparisons do not settle every regional configuration.
