The Motorola Edge 70 is the better fit if you want a very thin, light phone with wireless charging; the POCO X8 Pro suits buyers who prioritize a larger stated battery and faster wired charging. Neither is a proven all-round winner: the available specifications are not a substitute for matched camera, battery-life or performance tests. In a Brazil price snapshot accessed October 7, 2026, the Edge 70 was listed R$549.10 below the POCO, but those are changeable retailer offers, not official prices.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Edge 70 for a thin, light build and wireless charging
Motorola lists the Edge 70 at 5.99mm thick and 159g. It also lists 15W wireless charging, which the POCO specifications cited here do not establish for the X8 Pro. The Edge is the more compelling paper choice if carrying comfort and wireless charging matter more than battery capacity.

Choose the POCO X8 Pro for battery capacity and wired charging
POCO lists a 6,500mAh typical-capacity battery and 100W HyperCharge; Motorola lists 4,800mAh and 68W wired charging for the UK Edge 70. Those numbers favor the POCO for capacity and stated wired charging speed, but they do not prove longer real-world battery life or a particular charging time. No matched battery or charging test is established by these sources.
Do not choose by megapixels or peak brightness alone
Motorola describes three 50MP cameras on the Edge 70, while POCO specifies a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. These hardware claims do not demonstrate which phone takes better photos. Likewise, the brightness figures use different bases: Motorola gives a peak figure, while POCO specifies brightness over 25% of the screen area. They are not directly equivalent measurements.

Both displays support refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Edge’s listed display is slightly larger, while the POCO’s listed resolution is higher. The cited information does not establish a clear overall display-quality winner.
Processor and performance: what the specifications establish
The cited official materials identify a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Edge 70 and a Dimensity 8500-Ultra in the POCO X8 Pro. Chip names alone do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or gaming; no independent, controlled head-to-head benchmark is available in the cited sources.

POCO reports an AnTuTu score of 2,283,558 from its Internal Labs using AnTuTu V11.0.8 at around 25°C and says actual results vary. That is a vendor test result, not an independently verified comparison with the Edge 70. Treat it as POCO’s own result rather than a direct buying verdict.

Motorola lists IP68/IP69, MIL-STD 810H and Gorilla Glass 7i for the Edge 70; POCO lists IP68 for the X8 Pro under specified laboratory conditions. These ratings describe performance under defined test conditions, not immunity to every spill, immersion, impact or drop. Read the warranty terms for the specific regional model, especially if accidental damage protection matters.

Buying checklist
- Confirm the exact regional model, RAM and storage; Motorola’s cited 12GB/512GB configuration is specifically from its UK support page.
- Check whether the charger is included. POCO says adapter inclusion depends on the local seller; PPS-compatible adapters can support up to 100W according to its product information.
- Verify local warranty, network-band compatibility, stock and return terms before ordering.
- Compare current offers from the same country and date rather than treating an old or foreign-market listing as the phone’s usual price.
