The Motorola Edge 70 Pro upgrades the listed processor, storage generation, display and battery capacity over the Edge 60 Pro. It keeps the same listed RAM tiers and 90W wired charging, while Motorola’s materials disagree by region on whether the newer phone has a telephoto camera or wireless charging. For an Edge 60 Pro owner, the clearest reasons to switch are the larger, faster display and newer platform—not a proven camera or everyday battery-life improvement.
How the specifications compare
This comparison uses Motorola specifications checked on October 7, 2026. Motorola cautions that specifications may vary by market, and the Edge 70 Pro’s official materials do not consistently describe its camera and wireless-charging hardware. Values below are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results.

Newer processor and storage
The Edge 70 Pro moves from the Dimensity 8350 Extreme to the Dimensity 8500 Extreme, and its cited UK specification lists UFS 4.1 storage rather than the UFS 4.0 listed for the Edge 60 Pro in the US. These are platform-generation changes, not proof of a particular real-world speed gain. Motorola says the newer chip offers up to 25% higher peak performance and up to 30% better power efficiency compared with the prior generation; those are Motorola’s claims, not independent benchmark results.

Larger, faster display
The screen grows from 6.7 to 6.8 inches, and the listed maximum refresh rate rises from 120Hz to 144Hz. Motorola also lists a peak brightness of up to 5200 nits for the Edge 70 Pro, versus up to 4500 nits for the Edge 60 Pro. Peak brightness figures are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from a common independent test, so they show the paper difference rather than guaranteeing a visible brightness advantage in every setting.
More listed battery capacity, unchanged wired charging
The Edge 70 Pro’s battery is listed as 6500mAh typical and 6300mAh rated, compared with 6000mAh for the Edge 60 Pro. Motorola explains that typical capacity is an estimated average and rated capacity is the minimum guaranteed under controlled conditions. Both phones list 90W wired charging, so the newer model does not raise the stated wired charging wattage.

Motorola estimates up to 78 hours of music streaming, 29 hours of continuous video playback and 26 hours of gaming for the Edge 70 Pro under optimal conditions. Those company estimates are specific use-case figures, not a mixed-use battery-life guarantee. Motorola also claims 12 hours of battery in 9 minutes of 90W TurboPower charging under its stated conditions.

Camera and wireless charging depend on the market
Telephoto camera
The Edge 60 Pro’s cited specifications include a 10MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. For the Edge 70 Pro, Motorola’s UK support page lists main and ultrawide rear cameras but does not list a telephoto; Motorola’s announcement and Mexico materials describe a 50MP periscope telephoto and four 50MP cameras. This conflict means the available information cannot establish a universal camera upgrade. Check the exact country-specific listing and model number before buying if optical zoom matters.

Wireless charging
The Edge 60 Pro’s cited specifications list 15W wireless charging. The Edge 70 Pro UK support listing does not list wireless charging, while Motorola’s announcement and Mexico materials say 15W wireless charging is available. Do not assume that the feature is present in every regional Edge 70 Pro configuration.

If you already own an Edge 60 Pro
Consider switching if you specifically want the larger 144Hz display or the newer processor and storage generation. The battery’s listed capacity is higher, but the cited specifications alone do not show how much longer it lasts in ordinary use. Resolve the camera and wireless-charging differences for your market before treating either as a reason to upgrade.

If you are choosing between them
Compare current prices for the exact local configurations. A discounted Edge 60 Pro may be the more attractive choice if its screen and processor meet your needs, particularly if the newer phone’s market-specific camera or wireless-charging details are uncertain. Choose the Edge 70 Pro when its confirmed display, processor or battery-capacity changes justify the price difference to you.

What has not clearly improved
- RAM capacity: Both cited support pages list 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X options.
- Wired charging: Both list 90W.
- Durability ratings: Both list IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H.
- Software-support length: The Edge 60 Pro page states 3 OS upgrades plus 4 years of security maintenance; the Edge 70 Pro page says “up to 3 years” of OS upgrades and security patches. That wording does not show that the newer phone receives longer support.
