The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and TECNO POVA 8 5G both list 144 Hz displays, but they take different approaches: the reviewed Motorola pairs an AMOLED screen with an ultrawide rear camera, while the POVA emphasizes a larger stated battery and an interactive Active Matrix rear display. The best fit depends on your market’s exact configuration and price, as well as which features matter most.
Specifications below are tied to specific sources and markets, not a universal model lineup: TECNO’s official specifications are for Indonesia, Motorola’s cited official store page is for Japan, and review details apply to the configurations those publications tested. The India prices are a dated listing snapshot.

POVA 8 5G: larger rear display feature
TECNO’s Indonesia page lists a 6.76-inch, 144 Hz screen at 1080 × 2344; Android Central describes its reviewed configuration as LCD. TECNO also highlights the POVA’s Active Matrix rear display. This feature is distinct from a rear camera: Android Central says only one of the rear modules is an actual camera.
The shared 144 Hz figure describes refresh rate, not overall image quality or battery life. Panel technology and resolution differ, and the sources do not provide a directly comparable battery test for the two phones.
Camera hardware: the Motorola has an ultrawide
TechRadar’s reviewed Edge 70 Fusion has a 50 MP main rear camera and a 13 MP ultrawide, alongside a 32 MP front camera. TECNO’s Indonesia specification page lists a 50 MP autofocus rear camera and a 13 MP front camera. Android Central notes that the POVA’s other rear module should not be mistaken for another camera; it is part of the Active Matrix feature.

These resolution figures describe listed hardware, not comparative photo quality. The available evidence does not establish a like-for-like camera test, so megapixels alone are not a sound basis for predicting which phone takes better pictures.
Battery capacity and charging
For the reviewed configurations, TechRadar lists the Edge 70 Fusion at 7,000 mAh with 68 W wired charging. Android Central lists the POVA 8 5G at 8,000 mAh with 45 W wired charging. The TECNO therefore has the larger stated capacity, while the Motorola has the higher listed charging wattage.
Capacity and charging wattage do not by themselves establish real-world endurance or charging time. The cited material does not provide a standardized, directly comparable battery test for these phones.

Performance, memory and storage
TechRadar identifies a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in its reviewed Edge 70 Fusion, with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage. TECNO’s Indonesia page lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G and 128 GB or 256 GB ROM variants. It also describes physical RAM options and extended RAM separately. Extended or virtual RAM uses storage as a supplement; it is not the same as having that amount of additional physical memory.
Chip names and memory listings are not a substitute for a head-to-head performance test. Android Central’s reviewer describes the POVA 8 5G as having modest gaming performance, noting that games play decently when not set to the highest settings. That is an observation about the reviewer’s configuration, not a standardized benchmark against the Motorola.
Software and durability depend on the exact configuration
TechRadar lists Android 16 for its Edge 70 Fusion review model. TECNO describes the POVA 8 5G as running HiOS 16 based on Android 16. The available sources do not establish a market-specific, like-for-like software-update commitment for these configurations.

TechRadar reports IP68/IP69 and military protection for its Edge review model. Android Central lists IP64 and MIL-STD-810H for the POVA 8 5G. These are different ratings and standards; they should not be read as identical certifications or as a guarantee against every kind of damage.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Price difference: the India listing is only a snapshot
On 91mobiles’ India comparison listing, the Edge 70 Fusion was shown at ₹29,749 and the POVA 8 5G at ₹29,999—a ₹250 gap, with the Motorola lower in that snapshot. These are secondary listing prices, not confirmed official MSRP or a durable price advantage. They can change, and listings may aggregate configurations.
TechRadar reported launch prices of £379.99 and AU$499 for the Edge 70 Fusion and said it was not on sale in the US at the time of its review. Those are review-era, market-specific figures, not current universal prices. Motorola’s Japan store page states a planned release on 2026-10-23; that date is a planned Japanese release, not evidence that the phone was already available there.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Edge 70 Fusion if
- You prefer the AMOLED panel in TechRadar’s reviewed configuration.
- You want a dedicated ultrawide rear camera in the listed camera setup.
- The Motorola configuration available in your region has suitable network support, warranty and pricing.
Choose the TECNO POVA 8 5G if
- You prioritize its higher stated battery capacity.
- You want the Active Matrix rear display feature.
- You have checked the local software and service support for the specific regional model.
If both cost about the same locally, decide based on display preference, camera needs, battery priorities, and the exact configuration you can actually buy. Neither the listed refresh rates nor the battery capacities alone settle which is the better phone for you.
