The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion has the stronger listed hardware on several headline specs: a larger 7,000mAh battery, 68W charging, a 144Hz display and a 32MP front camera. The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G counters with microSD expansion and a clearly stated six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security update policy. The better choice depends on which trade-off matters more—and on the live price for the exact configuration you want.

What the specification differences mean
Battery and charging
Motorola lists 7,000mAh capacity and 68W charging, compared with Samsung’s 6,000mAh typical battery and 45W charging. Motorola also lists a charger in the box; Samsung says its fast charger is sold separately. These figures describe capacity and charging support, not how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in everyday use. Motorola’s page claims “up to 52 hours” of battery life, but that is Motorola’s claim, not an independent test.

Display
Motorola lists the larger display, higher resolution and faster maximum refresh rate: 6.8 inches, 2772 × 1272 and up to 144Hz, against Samsung’s approximately 6.66-inch, 1080 × 2340 panel with up to 120Hz. Motorola also lists 5200-nit peak brightness. These are specification-page figures, not a direct comparison of brightness, color accuracy or viewing experience.
Cameras
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization. Motorola specifies a 13MP ultrawide camera and 32MP front camera; Samsung lists 5MP and 2MP secondary rear cameras and a 12MP front camera. Pixel counts and camera configurations alone do not show which phone takes better photos or selfies.

Storage and software support
Samsung offers a documented expansion route: microSD storage up to 2TB. Motorola’s listed internal-storage options reach 256GB, and its reviewed specifications page does not state an equivalent update commitment. Samsung says the M47 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date, while noting that the policy is subject to change. That makes Samsung’s support duration explicit on the cited page; Motorola’s silence there should not be treated as proof of its full update policy.

Motorola lists a 193g weight and cites Gorilla Glass 7i, IP69/IP68 protection and MIL-STD 810H. Samsung lists Gorilla Glass Victus+ and promotes water and dust resistance, with a listed weight of 206g. The manufacturers describe protection differently and do not provide a common test basis here, so these claims should not be treated as equivalent or as evidence that either phone is abuse-proof.

Price difference in India
Prices vary by seller, configuration, color and offer. In listings checked on October 7, 2026, 91mobiles displayed ₹29,999 for the Edge 70 Fusion at Flipkart and ₹35,999 for the Galaxy M47 5G at Amazon—a ₹6,000 difference between those specific displayed offers. That is not a fixed or market-wide price gap.
There was also a different Motorola figure on Gadgets 360’s Edge 70 Fusion price page: it showed a Flipkart starting price of ₹30,999 on October 7, 2026, alongside other color and configuration prices. Before comparing totals, check the exact RAM and storage tier, color, seller, bank discounts and current offer. The Samsung listing includes 128GB storage in both stated RAM variants, while Motorola is listed with both 128GB and 256GB options.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion if
- You prioritize the larger stated battery capacity or higher listed wired-charging wattage.
- You want the higher listed display resolution and refresh rate.
- You value a higher front-camera megapixel count or want the listed charger included in the box.
- The live price for your preferred RAM and storage configuration is lower enough to make its hardware trade-offs worthwhile.
Choose the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G if
- You want microSD expansion, including the manufacturer-listed support for cards up to 2TB.
- A clearly stated OS-upgrade and security-update duration is a priority.
- You prefer Samsung’s software environment.
- You are comfortable accounting for a separately sold 45W charger if you need one.
Neither set of specifications establishes a winner for performance, camera quality or actual battery endurance. Those questions require comparable hands-on testing.
Launch timing and source details
Samsung’s India product page gives June 29, 2026 as the Galaxy M47 5G launch date. 91mobiles reports March 6, 2026 as the Edge 70 Fusion launch date and March 12, 2026 as its release date; attribute those Motorola dates to 91mobiles rather than Motorola.
