Display and design: polished, but distinctly curved
The Edge 50 Pro’s 6.7-inch P-OLED display combines a 1220 × 2712 resolution with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. That pairing makes the screen one of the phone’s most appealing features for scrolling, video and games that can use a high refresh rate. Its curved edges contribute to the premium look, but can be a handling drawback if you prefer a flat screen or often use your phone one-handed.
At 186g, the phone is relatively light for its size, and its IP68 rating adds dust and water resistance. Those features make the design more than a cosmetic selling point: the Edge 50 Pro is a large-screen device that does not feel unusually heavy on paper, with a stronger protection rating than many basic mid-range phones.

Camera review: flexible hardware with a real telephoto
The rear camera system is more versatile than a single-main-camera setup. The 50MP main camera has stabilization, the 10MP telephoto offers 3x optical zoom and stabilization, and the 13MP ultrawide has autofocus and can also shoot macro images. A 50MP autofocus front camera completes the hardware lineup.
The telephoto lens is especially useful when you want a closer view without relying entirely on digital cropping. The ultrawide’s autofocus and macro capability also give it a second role beyond fitting more of a scene into the frame. These specifications establish flexibility, not a guarantee of consistently better photos: camera quality still depends on lighting, subject movement, processing and video needs. When comparing phones, look at sample images and video from the same kinds of scenes you shoot, particularly moving subjects and zoom.

Battery life and charging: fast top-ups, variable endurance
The 4,500mAh battery supports up to 125W wired charging, but the maximum depends on the regional model and supplied or compatible adapter. Motorola’s charging claims are conditional, and charging slows as the battery fills. In TechRadar’s 2024 review test, its sample took 19.5 minutes to go from 20% to 100%; Motorola’s claim cited in that review was a full charge in 17 minutes under its stated conditions. Those are specific results, not a promise for every charger, outlet or charging session.
For wireless charging, Motorola specifies up to 50W, but reaching that rate requires the separately sold TurboPower 50W wireless charging stand. Treat that stand as an additional requirement rather than an included phone feature.

Endurance results vary with use. In its 2024 review, 91mobiles recorded 12 hours 30 minutes in a PCMark battery test and said regular users could generally make it through a day, while power users might need a top-up. TechRadar reported its review sample at 65% after 6.5 hours of mixed screen-on activity that included YouTube and benchmarks. These different tests do not produce a universal battery-life figure; demanding games, high brightness and mobile-data use can change what you get.
Performance and software support
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is suitable for routine phone tasks, but reviews identify performance as a weaker point compared with faster competitors. If you mainly browse, message, stream and take photos, that limitation may matter less than the display and cameras. For demanding gaming or workloads where sustained speed is a priority, compare performance carefully rather than assuming the Edge 50 Pro is a performance leader.

That is a historical commitment, not a live account of which releases have reached a given device or how much support remains today. Check Motorola’s current update information for your country and model before buying if long-term support is a deciding factor.

Should you buy the Motorola Edge 50 Pro?
Consider the Edge 50 Pro if its local price is competitive and you value a curved high-refresh display, camera versatility, IP68 protection and rapid charging more than top-tier processing speed or the longest update commitment. It is a less convincing fit if you need consistently strong battery endurance under heavy use, prefer a flat display, or want the longest possible software-support runway.

Make the comparison against current local listings, not old launch or review prices. Reviews have named the Google Pixel 8a, Pixel 8, OnePlus 12R and Samsung Galaxy S23 as alternatives in their respective markets, but availability and pricing vary. Compare the exact storage configuration and local price, camera performance for your subjects, gaming speed, battery and charging, current support remaining, screen shape and water resistance. Also confirm carrier-band compatibility and whether the charger you want is included.
