What the PCMark score tells you
NanoReview lists a PCMark 3.0 overall score of 16,124 and component scores of 15,979 for web browsing, 7,875 for video editing, 46,444 for photo editing, 10,609 for data manipulation, and 18,299 for writing. The summary does not state the run date or conditions. Use those component figures as context for that listing, not as a like-for-like comparison with another phone unless the PCMark version and test protocol are sufficiently matched. Hardware behind the results
Motorola’s specifications list a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 256 GB internal storage for the Edge 40. Those details help identify the tested phone’s platform, but do not make a benchmark result universal: firmware, app version, temperature, background activity, and the individual device’s state can affect a run. The cited summary pages do not document a common controlled protocol for their headline figures. Motorola Edge 40 specifications.
How to compare an Edge 40 result fairly
- Match the benchmark and its version: AnTuTu 11 against AnTuTu 11, Geekbench 6 against Geekbench 6, or PCMark 3.0 against PCMark 3.0.
- Compare the same score type: Geekbench single-core with single-core and multi-core with multi-core; compare totals only with totals.
- Check the software and test context where available, including Android version, app version, and device state. Treat user submissions as individual samples rather than a controlled average.
Are these official Motorola scores?
No official Motorola AnTuTu, Geekbench, or PCMark scores are established by the sources cited here. Motorola’s product specifications and 2023 launch announcement identify hardware and features, but do not publish these benchmark numbers. Its launch statement describes the Dimensity 8020 as “offering seamless connections to blazing fast 5G and Wi-Fi networks and powering everything from high resolution videos to smoother gaming”; that is Motorola’s marketing language, not independent benchmark evidence.
