The Moto is the larger-screen, lower-cost direction; the X300 FE is a compact, more expensive model with a higher-tier listed processor and dedicated telephoto camera. These are specification-based distinctions, not results from comparative testing.
Price and variants in India
The listed prices differ substantially, but they refer to different memory and storage configurations and dates. Display: larger Moto panel or compact vivo screen?
Moto G96 5G
Motorola promotes the G96’s 144Hz curved pOLED display. A secondary comparison lists the screen at 6.67 inches; Motorola’s retrieved product information confirms the display type and refresh rate but does not establish that size in the same source. Motorola’s product listing is the first-party reference for its display marketing.
vivo X300 FE
vivo specifies a 6.31-inch AMOLED display with 2640×1216 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is the more compact option on the listed dimensions, while the Moto’s higher stated refresh rate and reported larger panel may suit readers who prefer more screen area. A higher refresh-rate figure alone does not establish a better overall display.

Processor and expected performance tier
vivo lists the X300 FE with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while a secondary comparison identifies the Moto G96 5G’s processor as Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. This puts the vivo in the higher processor tier on paper, but it does not quantify how much faster either phone is in a given app, game or workload. No comparative benchmark or controlled performance test is available here. The X300 FE processor is specified on vivo’s official product page; the Moto processor identification comes from a secondary comparison.

Camera hardware: the vivo adds a dedicated telephoto
vivo X300 FE
vivo lists four rear-camera specifications: a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP OIS telephoto camera and an 8MP wide camera, alongside a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. The dedicated telephoto is the clearest hardware distinction for people who want a camera with a separate longer-reach lens rather than relying only on a main and wide camera. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not a guarantee of image quality across scenes.

vivo also announced the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 at ₹15,999 and describes it as a 200mm-equivalent accessory for photo, video and stage modes. Compatibility details and availability should be confirmed for the exact India model and purchase channel before relying on the accessory. See the X300 FE launch announcement and the X300 FE product page.
Moto G96 5G
A secondary comparison reports a 50MP main camera, an 8MP wide camera and a 32MP selfie camera for the Moto G96 5G. It does not list a separate telephoto camera. Treat these as secondary-source specifications rather than first-party-confirmed sensor details. On the listed hardware alone, vivo has the more elaborate camera arrangement, particularly for telephoto use and front-camera resolution; actual photo and video results are not established by these specifications.

Battery and charging
vivo specifies a 6,500mAh typical battery capacity and a 6,350mAh minimum/rated capacity for the X300 FE. Its maximum 90W wired FlashCharge figure requires the original charger and cable, and charging results can vary with conditions. The Moto G96’s 5,500mAh capacity is reported by the secondary comparison, not verified here against a Motorola specification table. These capacity figures do not establish real-world endurance, which depends on usage and settings.

vivo lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for the X300 FE. A secondary comparison lists Android 15 for the Moto G96 5G. Software versions and regional rollouts can change, so confirm the version on the specific India handset at purchase. The available information does not establish a comparable software-update support period for both phones; no update-policy winner can be claimed from these version labels alone.

The listed configurations also differ. Motorola’s family listing shows the Moto G96 5G in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations. vivo lists the X300 FE in 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants. Verify the selected configuration before ordering, since the model name alone does not identify the memory and storage tier.
Which phone makes more sense for you?
- Choose the Moto G96 5G if the much lower listed price and a larger, higher-refresh-rate display matter more than flagship-tier processor positioning or a dedicated telephoto camera. Its listed configurations top out at 8GB+256GB.
- Consider the vivo X300 FE if you prioritize a compact 6.31-inch screen, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 listed by vivo, dedicated 50MP OIS telephoto hardware, a 50MP autofocus selfie camera, or the larger stated battery capacity. Its price is substantially higher, and the optional extender is a separate purchase.
This is a paper comparison based on manufacturer listings and the identified secondary specifications, not a tested verdict. For Motorola, the retrieved first-party listing does not establish all fine-print specifications, including charging wattage, exact camera sensors, IP rating or software-support duration; check Motorola’s current model-specific details before using those factors to decide.
