The POCO M8 Power 5G is reported to offer a larger battery, faster charging and a bigger display; the Moto G86 Power has an officially listed 512 GB storage configuration, stronger front-camera resolution and Motorola-published durability ratings. In India comparison listings accessed in 2026, the POCO was about ₹6,095–₹6,154 more expensive, but those dynamic prices may not compare matching variants or offers.

India price difference: the POCO listings are about ₹6,100 higher

Two comparison sites show a similar snapshot, but neither figure should be treated as an official or lasting price. The listings may reflect offers and do not establish that the same RAM and storage variants are being compared.

Moto G86 Power ₹17,835 ₹17,835
POCO M8 Power 5G ₹23,930 ₹23,989

These are comparison-site snapshots, not confirmed prices for a specific seller, memory configuration, or warranty. Before buying, compare the exact variant and seller checkout price. Separately, Cinco Días reported India launch prices for the POCO of ₹24,999 for 6 GB/128 GB and ₹27,999 for 8 GB/128 GB; those are historical launch prices, not the current listing figures.

Specs at a glance—and an important chipset conflict

The Moto figures below come from Motorola’s G86 Power specifications page, which warns that specifications can vary by market. POCO M8 Power 5G details are from secondary comparison listings and launch coverage; verify them against the exact regional model and seller. Do not confuse the POCO M8 Power 5G with the separate POCO M8 5G.

Battery and charging: POCO’s reported capacity advantage

Secondary listings put the POCO at 8,000 mAh and 45 W charging. Motorola officially lists 6,720 mAh and 30 W TurboPower for the G86 Power. That is a meaningful capacity and rated-charging advantage on paper for POCO, but capacity alone does not establish real-world screen time or days between charges. Usage, network conditions, display settings and software all affect runtime; no comparative battery test is established here.

Display and performance

Display size and detail

The comparison listings describe a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel on the POCO, versus Motorola’s official 6.67-inch AMOLED panel. Motorola specifies 2712 × 1220 resolution and refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The POCO’s precise resolution and refresh rate are not confirmed by an official M8 Power source in the available evidence, so screen size alone is not enough to declare which display looks sharper or feels smoother.

Chipset discrepancy

Motorola’s product page identifies the G86 Power processor as the Dimensity 7300. Some secondary comparison listings instead say Dimensity 7400. Because those claims conflict, the manufacturer’s specification is the stronger reference for the product page cited here; confirm the processor on the exact regional SKU before purchase. Secondary listings identify the POCO M8 Power 5G as using Snapdragon 4 Gen 4.

(Not Compatibe with Certain MVNOs like Xfinty and Spectrum).

Cameras and durability

Comparison listings give the Moto a 50 MP + 8 MP rear-camera arrangement and a 32 MP selfie camera, against the POCO’s reported 50 MP + 2 MP rear setup and 8 MP selfie camera. The Moto therefore has the higher stated front-camera resolution, but megapixel counts do not establish photo quality; there is no head-to-head camera test here.

Motorola lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H for the G86 Power, while cautioning that specifications can vary by market. Secondary listings mention Gorilla Glass for both phones, but the POCO M8 Power 5G’s precise protection rating has not been verified from a manufacturer page. Check the local model’s official specifications for any durability claim you intend to rely on.

Software support and model-name distinction

POCO launch coverage reports Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and four major Android updates plus six years of security patches for the M8 Power 5G. A 91mobiles comparison listing reports Android 15, one OS update and three years of security updates for Moto; that Motorola support figure is not corroborated by an official policy source here, so treat it as attributed secondary information rather than a definitive policy comparison.

Model identity matters: Xiaomi’s global page for the POCO M8 5G describes a different phone, listing Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and a 5,520 mAh battery. Those specifications should not be applied to the POCO M8 Power 5G. Check that the box, seller listing and regional product page say “M8 Power 5G.”

Which phone should you choose?

Choose Moto G86 Power if

  • Your actual checkout price is lower and you want to keep the purchase cost down.
  • You need the 512 GB storage configuration listed by Motorola.
  • You prioritize its 32 MP reported selfie camera or Motorola’s published IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H ratings.

Choose POCO M8 Power 5G if

  • The reported 8,000 mAh battery and 45 W charging matter more than the observed price premium.
  • You prefer the reported larger 6.83-inch display.
  • You value the launch coverage’s stated four Android upgrades and six years of security patches, after confirming that commitment applies to your regional model.

For either phone, verify the local SKU and current seller terms before deciding. The available India price snapshots suggest a POCO premium, but the figures are not a like-for-like official price comparison.
