How much more does the Redmi 17 5G cost?
The 91mobiles comparison listing showed ₹17,000 for the Moto G37 Power 5G and ₹23,999 for the Redmi 17 5G, a reported difference of ₹6,999. Both listings were labeled Amazon India. These are indicative comparison-page prices, not a guarantee of today’s price, seller, stock or matching configurations.

Before comparing checkout totals, confirm that each listing is for the same market and check the RAM and storage configuration, seller, warranty and delivery terms. A price for one memory variant may not be directly comparable with another.

Which phone has the better screen?
The Redmi 17 5G has the larger listed display: Xiaomi Global specifies 6.9 inches, compared with Motorola’s 16.94cm (about 6.7 inches). Both are HD+ panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz, so neither specification sheet points to a resolution advantage.
Motorola lists a high-brightness mode up to 1,050 nits. Xiaomi Global’s cited specifications list refresh and touch-sampling rates but do not state a comparable brightness figure, so the published figures do not establish which screen is easier to read outdoors. Display size, resolution and refresh-rate claims do not substitute for a side-by-side viewing test.
Battery capacity and charging depend on the Redmi market
Motorola lists a 7,000mAh battery, with 6,790mAh rated capacity, 30W wired charging and 6W wired reverse charging for the Moto G37 Power. Motorola also claims battery life of up to 62 hours; that is a manufacturer claim, not a comparable independent endurance result.

Xiaomi Global lists the Redmi 17 5G with a 7,500mAh typical battery, 45W charging and wired reverse charging up to 22.5W. Xiaomi India instead advertises a 7,900mAh typical battery and 45W charging for its India-market phone. Treat these as market-specific specifications rather than combining them into one universal Redmi configuration. Xiaomi Global says a power adapter is not included in the box; check the India SKU’s box contents and the exact retail listing.
On the listed charging rates, Redmi has the higher wired charging specification. Actual charging time can vary with the adapter, cable, temperature and use while charging; these specifications alone do not establish real-world charge times or battery endurance.
Processor, memory and storage: what the specifications establish
Motorola lists a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 built on a 6nm process, with an octa-core CPU up to 2.5GHz. Xiaomi Global lists a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 on a 4nm process. The chip names and process figures do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or sustained workloads; that requires comparable independent testing.

The Moto G37 Power is listed with 4GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB built-in storage. Xiaomi Global lists multiple region-dependent Redmi configurations, including 4GB or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and specifies UFS 2.2. Verify the RAM and storage on the exact local listing rather than assuming every market offers the same configuration.
Both phones support microSD expansion. Motorola lists support up to 1TB, while Xiaomi Global lists up to 2TB. Cards are optional or sold separately, and availability can depend on the exact handset variant.
Camera hardware does not settle photo quality
Both manufacturers list a 50MP rear main camera and an 8MP front camera. Motorola specifies an f/1.8 rear camera and f/2.0 fixed-focus front camera; its listed video modes reach 2K at 30fps on both the rear and front cameras, with rear FHD recording up to 60fps. Xiaomi Global lists rear and front video recording up to 1080p at 30fps.

These are hardware and recording-mode specifications, not evidence that one phone takes better photos or video. Sensor resolution, aperture and maximum recording mode cannot account for processing, focus, stabilization or low-light results; no comparative camera test is established here.

The Moto G37 Power weighs 215g, compared with the Redmi 17 5G’s 232g on Xiaomi Global’s page. Both are listed with IP64 protection and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Motorola additionally lists Gorilla Glass 7i. Xiaomi lists Bluetooth 5.1, while Motorola lists Bluetooth 5.4; the Motorola page does not list NFC, and Xiaomi says NFC availability varies by market. Absence from a specification page is not proof that every regional variant lacks a feature.

For software, Motorola’s support page lists Android 16 for the Moto G37 Power. Xiaomi India advertises HyperOS 3 (Android 16) for the India Redmi 17 5G, with four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. Those update commitments are stated on the India page; do not assume they apply unchanged to every region. Xiaomi Global’s cited specification page does not establish the same update term.

Network bands and connectivity support can differ by region and operator. Motorola expressly notes that specifications may vary by market; Xiaomi also warns that connectivity and bands vary by region and local operator support. Confirm the exact model and supported bands with the seller or carrier before importing or purchasing a regional variant.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Moto G37 Power if the lower listed India comparison price, lower listed weight, Motorola’s stated high-brightness mode, or its 8GB RAM option matters most to you. Its listed reverse charging is 6W wired.
- Choose the Redmi 17 5G if you want the larger screen, the higher listed 45W wired charging rate, or—if buying the India model—the software-support term advertised by Xiaomi India. Check the India battery specification and box contents for the exact SKU.
- Compare exact listings before deciding if your priority is battery capacity, memory, storage, NFC or network compatibility. Xiaomi’s published battery capacity differs between its global and India pages, and configurations vary by region.
Neither specification sheet proves an overall performance, camera-quality or battery-life winner. The price gap, local SKU and features you value are more useful decision points than treating either phone as universally better.
