Moonshot AI has reportedly closed its final private funding round at a valuation of about US$50 billion and is targeting a Hong Kong IPO in the first quarter of 2027. Bloomberg reporting carried by The Business Times says the proposed listing could raise up to US$5 billion. The figures and timetable come from people familiar with the matter; Moonshot has not publicly confirmed the reported transaction.
What is reported about Moonshot AI’s funding round?
Bloomberg reporting carried by The Business Times on October 6, 2026 says Moonshot AI completed a final private funding round at a valuation of about US$50 billion. The report attributes the information to people familiar with the matter, rather than to a public company announcement.
That reported figure is higher than the US$31.5 billion valuation attributed to an earlier summer funding round in Euronews’ October 6 coverage, which also summarizes Bloomberg reporting and cites people familiar with the matter. The two numbers refer to different reported rounds; neither is presented here as a company-confirmed valuation.

When and where could the IPO happen?
The reported plan is to list in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2027. That is a target window, not a confirmed listing date. In an earlier report, the South China Morning Post on September 3, 2026 said Moonshot had confidentially filed for an IPO, citing two people familiar with the matter, and noted that the timing depended on regulatory approvals and market conditions.

Moonshot’s response to the SCMP was that it “doesn’t comment on market rumours or speculation”. That statement is neither confirmation nor denial of the reported filing or listing plan.
How much might Moonshot raise?
The proposed offering could raise up to US$5 billion, according to the October 6 Bloomberg reports carried by The Business Times and Euronews. “Up to” describes a reported possible maximum, not a finalized deal size. The available coverage does not establish final offering terms or proceeds.

What do the reported revenue figures mean?
Euronews’ October 6 report, summarizing Bloomberg’s sourcing, says Moonshot’s annual recurring revenue was estimated at US$1 billion currently and was expected to reach US$2 billion by December. These are attributed estimates and a forecast, not audited financial results or guaranteed revenue.

Moonshot’s Kimi K3 model, released in July 2026, is described as open-weight in the SCMP coverage. It provides context about the company’s AI business, but the cited reports do not establish that K3 alone drove the reported valuation or IPO plans.
