MNT-Halan has reportedly raised EGP 4 billion (about $82 million) through three securitized-debt tranches, while its parent is separately preparing a proposed sale of 20% of the group’s Egyptian business on the Egyptian Exchange. The debt is borrowing, not IPO equity; the share sale had not been reported as completed as of October 3, 2026, and remained subject to approvals and market conditions.

What is MNT-Halan’s $82 million debt raise?

Dealroom reports that Tasheel Finance and Halan Consumer Finance issued three securitized-bond tranches totaling EGP 4 billion, reported as approximately US$82 million. The individual reported US-dollar equivalents add to about US$82.2 million, which coverage rounds to $82 million. The local-currency figure is the reported transaction amount. Dealroom.co

Issuing subsidiary Reported tranche amount Reported maturity Reported rating
Tasheel Finance US$24.6 million equivalent (Dealroom, 2026) 13 months (Dealroom, 2026) A- (Dealroom, 2026; attributed to Middle East Credit Rating and Investor Services)
Tasheel Finance US$46.8 million equivalent (Dealroom, 2026) 13 months (Dealroom, 2026) A- (Dealroom, 2026; attributed to Middle East Credit Rating and Investor Services)
Halan Consumer Finance US$10.8 million equivalent (Dealroom, 2026) 13 months (Dealroom, 2026) A- (Dealroom, 2026; attributed to Middle East Credit Rating and Investor Services)

Securitized borrowing is different from selling shares: the debt instruments entail repayment obligations, while shares represent ownership. Dealroom describes securitization generally as a funding route for non-bank lenders, but the available reporting does not establish the specific collateral or repayment waterfall for these tranches. Those details should not be assumed.

How does the debt relate to the planned IPO?

The debt financing and the proposed Cairo listing are separate capital-markets events. The reported bond proceeds are not described as funding the IPO. In the announced base offer, MNT Investments B.V., MNT-Halan’s parent, plans to sell existing shares in MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments, the group’s Egyptian business. That is a secondary share sale: the parent is offering ownership it already holds, rather than the company necessarily issuing new shares in the base transaction. The Meridian

How much of MNT-Halan is going public?

The Meridian reports a base offer of 320 million shares, representing 20% of MNT Tech Holding, for institutional and retail investors on the Egyptian Exchange. The price was to be determined through bookbuilding; the announced percentage and share count are offer plans, not a completed allocation. The Meridian

There is a material difference in how coverage describes possible changes to the offer. The Meridian characterizes the 320 million-share base transaction as fully secondary. Business Tech News reports that the September 30 intention-to-float announcement allowed the offer to increase to as much as 25% and described up to 170 million new shares as a possible component. The final mix and any increase depend on the approved prospectus, so these descriptions should not be treated as settled terms. Business Tech News

Is the Cairo IPO completed, and when will it trade?

No completion or first trading date was confirmed in the reporting available as of October 3, 2026. Coverage said trading was expected in October, but the offer remained conditional on regulatory approvals and market conditions. The Meridian reported temporary listing approval from the EGX Listing Committee in September; that is distinct from final approval of the prospectus and completion of the offering. A final price range, retail/institutional allocation, and any upsizing also remained outstanding in that reporting. The Meridian Business Tech News

What does the financing say about MNT-Halan’s scale?

Dealroom reports an active loan portfolio of EGP 46.7 billion as of June 30, 2026, cumulative loan disbursements of EGP 178 billion since launch, and about 1.9 million borrowers as of that date. The dollar value reported for the loan portfolio differs across coverage, so the dated EGP figure is the more consistent way to state it. These are reported company-scale figures, not independent audit findings. Dealroom.co

The fundraising is therefore best understood as two different transactions: short-maturity securitized debt raised through lending subsidiaries and a proposed sale of shares in the Egyptian business. The announced 20% IPO base offer remains conditional, with its final structure and completion not established in the cited reports as of October 3, 2026.
