For the first documented Mirror Isles board in Order of the Sinking Star, the route uses two mirror swaps: walk right until your reflection reaches the northwest island, swap, walk to the west edge, swap again, then reach the yellow exit on the southern island. This guide identifies that board before giving escalating hints and the attributed move sequence. The available sources do not establish which puzzles count as “Part 1,” so this is not a verified complete Part 1 walkthrough.

How Mirror Isles puzzles work

Order of the Sinking Star is a puzzle adventure with more than one thousand handcrafted puzzles, according to its Steam store listing. In Mirror Isles, the central mechanic is swapping places with your reflection across the islands. Your position relative to a mirror affects where that reflection lands, so the route depends on both your movement and the island layout.

Identify the documented Mirror Isles 1 board

The documented example is titled “Four islands, one mirror (Mirror Isles 1)” in the Kingy field guide. Match the room to these landmarks before following the route:

  • You begin on the middle-right island.
  • The only mirror is northeast of you.
  • An empty island sits northwest.
  • The large southern island contains the yellow exit.

Start from a reset room matching that layout. If your board differs, these moves may not apply.

Try hints before the full route

If you would rather solve the board yourself, use these prompts in order and stop when you see the next move:

  1. Look at the open space and ask what the room’s layout makes possible.
  2. Consider how a right-angled mirror changes horizontal and vertical direction.
  3. Think about what happens when crystal blocks enter water.
  4. Use the stone and mirror to increase the vertical distance between the two mirrored figures.

These escalating hints come from a player reply in the Steam Community thread “Pale Orange Star Puzzle (Mirror Isles)”. The original poster said the hints helped them solve that puzzle; they are hints, not a verified move-by-move solution for every board.

Full route for Four islands, one mirror

  1. From the reset layout, walk right across the starting island until your reflection stands on the northwest island. Activate the mirror action.
  2. Walk left to the west edge of that island. Check that your reflection is on the large southern island, then activate the mirror action again.
  3. Walk left across the southern island and go up onto the yellow exit.

This route is reported by the Kingy guide from Joric’s gameplay recording published June 17, 2026; the recording shows the starting room at 0:08 and the completion state at 0:15. The exact game build was not disclosed, and the guide says the steps were not independently play-tested in the native game, so treat them as an observed demo route rather than a confirmed solution for the current retail build.

Other Mirror Isles routes and why board matching matters

A separate Steam Community discussion, “What to do in this latest Mirror Isles level?”, contains one player’s ten-step route for a board with two mirrors and a purple stone. The route repositions mirrors, uses a reflection to reach a lower island, moves and reflects the stone, then uses a mirror to reach the exit. The thread notes that more than one solution may exist. Because the discussion describes an individual route rather than an authoritative solution archive, use it only if your board matches its described objects and layout.

What “Part 1” covers

The available sources do not define the boundary of “Part 1,” supply official names for all its boards, or verify a complete set of solutions. The documented route above is specifically for Mirror Isles 1; it should not be read as a complete guide to every puzzle that a player or publisher might include in Part 1. Check each board’s landmarks before applying a route, and use the hints when a full solution would spoil too much.
