The MINISFORUM Venus UN305 is a compact desktop built around an Intel Core i3-N305 processor, with dual gigabit Ethernet, three-display support as specified by its distributor, and room for more storage. Its key limitation is memory: the LPDDR5 is onboard and the listed maximum is 16 GB. This is a specification-led review, not a hands-on test; I have not independently tested performance, noise, or thermals.
What the Venus UN305 is
The UN305 is the Intel Core i3-N305 model in MINISFORUM’s UN100/UN305 family. It is distinct from the lower-tier UN100 and from similarly named models such as the UN305C. MINISFORUM lists the processor as an 8-core, 8-thread chip with 6 MB of cache and a maximum frequency of 3.8 GHz. The integrated graphics are listed as Intel UHD Graphics.
Links International announced Japanese retail availability on August 5, 2023. That release date makes the UN305 a 2023-era PC rather than a newly introduced model. Links International’s regional product page now marks it discontinued; that describes the distributor’s channel and does not establish that all markets have exhausted remaining or used stock. Check the listing and configuration in your own market before buying.

Memory: choose capacity before you buy
The LPDDR5 memory is described as onboard, and the published maximum is 16 GB. Treat it as non-upgradeable: this is not a replaceable SODIMM configuration. Select a model with enough memory for the PC’s expected working life, since adding RAM later is not a documented upgrade path.
Links International’s Japanese launch configuration listed 16 GB of memory, but buyers should not assume every regional or reseller configuration has the same amount. Confirm the installed capacity in the exact listing.
Storage: an M.2 SATA drive plus a 2.5-inch bay
The primary M.2 position is specified for an M.2 2280 SATA SSD, not an NVMe drive. For a replacement, shop for the SATA interface as well as the 2280 form factor; do not assume an NVMe M.2 SSD will work in this slot.

A separate 2.5-inch SATA bay provides another storage option, and the TF card slot offers removable-card expansion. If fitting a 2.5-inch SSD, verify that its dimensions and thickness suit the actual chassis. The Japanese launch configuration was reported with a 256 GB M.2 SATA SSD, but installed drive capacity is configuration-specific.
Ports, displays, and networking
Up to three displays
The system has two HDMI outputs and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode. Links International says HDMI and USB-C can drive up to three displays simultaneously. That is the distributor’s stated maximum; check the monitors’ inputs and cabling, and confirm that a USB-C connection uses DisplayPort Alt Mode for video.
Two gigabit Ethernet ports
The two Ethernet ports are specified at 1000 Mb/s each—gigabit Ethernet, not 2.5GbE. Having two ports may suit a small home-server or networking setup, but the specification alone does not establish performance in a particular network configuration. Wireless specifications are Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2.

USB and power
MINISFORUM lists four USB-A ports, with USB 3.2 Gen 1/Gen 2 wording on its specification page, along with an audio jack. The included adapter is rated at 12 V DC. Check the exact port labels and required peripherals against the unit’s regional listing if a particular connection matters to your setup.
Performance, noise, and thermals: what this review can establish
The processor and graphics descriptions identify the platform, but they do not substitute for benchmark results. I have not tested this exact unit, and the available evidence here does not establish controlled UN305 results for application performance, sustained workloads, fan noise, temperatures, or power draw. No performance score or acoustic verdict should be inferred from the specification list.
For a purchase decision that depends on heavy or sustained work, seek independent testing of the exact UN305 configuration and review the test conditions. Results from a different mini PC—even one with a related processor—would not by themselves establish this model’s cooling, noise, or sustained performance.
Availability and buying checks
The UN305 launched in Japan in 2023, and Links International now marks its regional page discontinued. That is not proof that no units remain elsewhere. Current stock, price, warranty, and installed configuration vary by seller and market and are not established here.
