The Minion-shaped router is Davolink’s Minions Bob, a real dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router. But the available price reports do not confirm that it is under $40 for October Prime Day on October 7, 2026. The last reported Amazon price was $79.49 from third-party sellers after Amazon’s direct stock sold out on September 25; a $32.99 price was recorded earlier, on September 2. Check the live listing, seller, stock and delivered total before buying.
Is the Minions Bob router under $40 on October Prime Day?
That price is not verified. A September 2, 2026 PriceHistory.app record shows the Bob AX1800 at $32.99, but that is a historical observation, not a current offer. On September 25, Mashable, republished by Yahoo Tech, reported that Amazon’s direct inventory had sold out and third-party sellers were asking $79.49. Neither report confirms the price or stock on October 7.
Before purchasing, open the live Amazon listing for the exact Davolink Minions Bob model and check the seller, availability, shipping and final delivered price. A listing price alone may not reflect the total. The September report also mentioned eBay as a resale route, but it did not establish a current listing or a reliable price there. Mashable via Yahoo Tech’s September 25 report and PriceHistory.app’s Bob price-history page provide dated context, not a live quote.

Bob is a functional router, not just a novelty-shaped gadget. RTINGS reviewed the model and describes it as a compact Wi-Fi 6 router with dual-band connectivity. Its cited wired connections are one 1 Gbps WAN port and one 1 Gbps LAN port, so do not expect several wired LAN ports for connecting multiple devices directly.
#1 Best Overall
- WI-FI 6 FOR WIRELESS PCVR, GAMING & STREAMING – Built with 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 technology, Bob connects compatible devices to the 5GHz band for responsive wireless PCVR, online gaming, video calls, and high-bandwidth 4K and 8K streaming. Ideal for dedicated VR and AR setups where stable wireless performance matters.
- AX1800 DUAL-BAND WI-FI 6 PERFORMANCE – Access 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands with combined theoretical speeds up to 1.77Gbps—up to 1.2Gbps on 5GHz and 573Mbps on 2.4GHz. Actual performance may vary based on distance, connected devices, network conditions, and physical obstacles.
- GIGABIT WAN & LAN CONNECTIVITY – 1GbE WAN and LAN ports support high-speed wired network connections. Connect Bob to a compatible modem or existing wired network through the WAN port, and use the LAN port for a PC, game console, TV, or other wired device.
- ROUTER, ACCESS POINT, WIFI EXTENDER & MESH FLEXIBILITY – Use Bob as your primary wireless router, configure it as an access point for an existing wired network, extend Wi-Fi coverage through its repeater function, or pair it with a compatible Davolink Minions router for expandable mesh coverage. WPA3 encryption helps protect compatible connected devices.
RTINGS lists standalone, repeater and mesh functions. It says Bob can pair with the taller Minions Kevin model. Davolink’s Easy Mesh is not the same thing as the Wi-Fi Alliance EasyMesh standard, so a mesh label should not be treated as proof of compatibility with every other mesh system. See RTINGS’ Davolink Minions Bob Router Review, reviewed May 29, 2026, with its test bench updated September 11, 2026.
Bob vs. Kevin: which model makes sense?
| Model | Wi-Fi and bands | Wired ports | Buying consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minions Bob | Wi-Fi 6, dual band | One 1 Gbps WAN and one 1 Gbps LAN | The compact AX1800 model associated with the under-$40 story; confirm its current seller and total price. |
| Minions Kevin | Wi-Fi 6E, tri-band | Not stated in the cited RTINGS review | The related higher-spec model; current price and stock were not verified. RTINGS says it can mesh with Bob. |
Kevin is worth considering only if its higher-spec Wi-Fi 6E, tri-band design fits your needs. The available price reports do not establish a current price for it, and the cited Bob review does not state Kevin’s wired-port count.

What the other October deal coverage confirms
Tom’s Hardware published an October 6, 2026 roundup of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Wi-Fi router offers, but the available page information does not verify a Minions Bob deal or price. TP-Link’s Prime Day promotion page concerns other routers and says its promotion ended June 26, 2026; it cannot confirm an October deal for Bob. Neither source substantiates a sub-$40 offer.

International listings are not a US price check
Ubuy UK listed an imported Bob AX1800 for GBP 34, excluding shipping, VAT and customs. That UK listing does not establish the US Amazon price or the amount a US buyer would pay after delivery and import costs.
