Minimus announced on 7 April 2026 that Yael Nardi had joined as its Chief Business Officer (CBO), in a newly created role spanning growth strategy, operations, corporate development and strategic alliances. That announcement described an expansion effort; Minimus’s current About page now says the company is ending operations and plans to shut down its registry on 22 October 2026.
What was Yael Nardi appointed to do at Minimus?
Minimus said Nardi’s newly created CBO position would oversee four areas:
- Growth strategy
- Strategic operations
- Corporate development
- Strategic alliances
CEO Ben Bernstein described the company’s plans at the time: “We are entering a phase of aggressive expansion that requires rigorous execution and a completely new playbook.” Nardi said she had worked with the team through important milestones and saw potential in its technology. These statements reflect the company’s outlook when it announced the appointment; they do not establish that the expansion plan continued after later developments.
Who is Yael Nardi?
In its 7 April announcement, Minimus described Nardi as having more than 15 years of experience advising startups, investors and technology corporations. The company said she had been a Director at Meitar NY Inc. and a Partner at Meitar Law Offices, and had worked on Palo Alto Networks’ acquisition of Twistlock and transactions involving Wiz, JFrog and Salesforce. Minimus also said she holds an LLB from Tel Aviv University and would be based in the company’s New York City office. These biographical details are company-reported in the announcement.

What did Minimus make?
Minimus described its offering as hardened container images built continuously from source, with security updates, software bills of materials (SBOMs), threat intelligence, and security or compliance features. The announcement also claimed that teams using its images and tooling could avoid “over 97% of container vulnerabilities.” That figure is a Minimus claim; the announcement did not provide a measurement method, baseline or independent validation.
What happened to Minimus after the appointment?
Minimus’s current About page says the company is ending operations. It states that a 60-day maintenance period began on 24 August 2026 and that the registry is scheduled to be turned off on 22 October 2026. That shutdown date is planned as of 8 October 2026, not a confirmation that the shutdown has already occurred.
The company says images pulled before shutdown will continue to function but will not receive further updates. It also says, “Minimus is joining Echo.” The page does not explain the transaction or operating arrangements, so that statement alone does not establish that Echo will maintain the Minimus product or registry.

Teams that depend on Minimus images should treat the scheduled shutdown as a service-transition deadline. Because images already pulled are expected to keep working but stop receiving updates, retaining a local copy is not a substitute for an ongoing security-update plan.

- Inventory dependencies. Identify Minimus image references across Dockerfiles, build pipelines, deployment manifests and running workloads. Record image versions and the services that depend on them.
- Confirm what is already available locally. Check which images are present in internal registries or build caches, and preserve the versions needed for recovery or investigation. Do not assume an image can still be pulled after the scheduled registry shutdown.
- Choose and verify a maintained replacement. Evaluate candidate providers for active maintenance, image coverage, update and vulnerability-response practices, SBOM and provenance support, required compliance evidence, migration effort and total cost. Confirm the specific images and support commitments before migration.
- Test the migration. Update image references in a controlled environment, rebuild or redeploy affected services, and check compatibility, vulnerability handling and deployment behavior before changing production workflows.
- Update operating procedures. Remove obsolete Minimus references from automation, document the replacement source and ensure teams know how updates and security issues will be handled.
Minimus’s announcement is available through GlobeNewswire. The company’s current status and planned registry closure are stated on its About page.
