The Miele WTZH730WPM is a washer-dryer combo that washes up to 8 kg but dries only 5 kg. That difference is the key practical constraint: for a continuous wash-and-dry cycle, size the load for the 5 kg drying limit. Miele’s October 2018 Australia brochure lists TwinDos automatic detergent dispensing, CapDosing, PowerWash 2.0 and SteamCare, but those feature names do not establish how well the machine performs in independent testing. The public CHOICE page provides specifications and label figures; its detailed test scores are behind member access.
What the WTZH730WPM offers
Miele’s October 2018 Australia brochure describes the WTZH730WPM as a combined washing machine and dryer, with an 8 kg wash capacity and a 5 kg drying capacity. It lists a maximum spin speed of 1,600 rpm and the following headline features:
- TwinDos: automatic dispensing using Miele’s two-phase detergent system or, with refillable containers, conventional liquid detergent and/or fabric softener.
- CapDosing: a capsule-based dosing feature.
- PowerWash 2.0: a named wash technology.
- SteamCare: a steam feature.
The brochure documents these features, but feature names alone do not show that this model cleans better, saves energy, or treats clothes more gently than alternatives.

How much can it wash and dry?
The published capacities are 8 kg for washing and 5 kg for drying. A load that fits the washer’s maximum capacity may exceed what the dryer can handle. If you want to wash and dry without removing items between stages, plan around the 5 kg drying limit rather than the 8 kg wash limit. These model specifications appear in Miele’s Australia brochure and on CHOICE’s model page.

Dimensions and installation space
Miele’s October 2018 Australia brochure lists dimensions of 596 × 850 × 714 mm (width × height × depth), with a depth of 1,132 mm when the door is open. CHOICE rounds the closed dimensions to 60 × 85 × 72 cm. The difference reflects how the sources express depth; use the brochure’s precise door-open figure when checking space.
The brochure says the machine can be slotted under a worktop but not built under, and that it can be stacked. It also lists a cold-only tap connection. These details are regional and document-era specifications, not a substitute for the installation instructions for the exact unit you are buying. Check the local manual, clearances, door swing, water connection and stacking requirements before installation.

TwinDos: detergent options and upkeep
The manual describes TwinDos as compatible with Miele’s 2 Phase System or conventional liquid detergent and/or fabric softener. The two-phase system uses UltraPhase 1 as the base detergent and UltraPhase 2 as a detergent enhancer, dispensed at separate points in the wash. The manual describes the cartridges as disposable. To use conventional liquid detergent or fabric softener, it says refillable TwinDos containers are required.
Automatic dosing is not available for every program and detergent combination. The manual gives Woollens with the Miele 2 Phase System as an example where TwinDos automatic dosing cannot be selected. It also includes a TwinDos maintenance program to clean the containers and internal hoses. Owners considering TwinDos should account for the consumables, container choice and periodic system care; current local cartridge supply and prices are not established here.
Energy and water figures: read the labels in context
Miele’s 2018 Australia brochure lists four-star wash energy and WELS water ratings, 73 litres of water for washing, and 21 litres of additional water for drying. Those water figures are brochure-reported values tied to the stated test-program context, not a prediction of every household’s usage.
CHOICE’s page displays 293 kWh/year for washer energy and 144 kWh/year for dryer energy, along with 73 L for wash water and 21 L for dryer water. CHOICE associates the label with Cottons 40°C washing and Cottons 60°C normal-plus drying. It also shows four washer energy stars, 4.5 dryer energy stars and four washer water stars. These are page-listed label values for the specified programs, not a forecast of a household’s annual consumption. Ratings and label methods are regional, so do not assume they apply unchanged outside the market shown.

What independent testing establishes—and what it does not
CHOICE identifies a review for this model and displays specifications and label data. On the page reviewed, however, its expert rating, recommendation status, wash and drying performance scores, cycle time, noise, detailed energy and water test results, reliability and satisfaction results are member-only. The accessible information therefore does not support a public performance verdict or a comparison with other washer-dryers.
