The Miele H 7464 BP (also written H7464BP) is a 60 cm built-in electric oven with a 76 L cavity, five shelf levels, pyrolytic self-cleaning, a moisture-plus cooking mode and a wired food probe. Miele’s published specifications support that description. What the public record does not yet support is a verdict on cooking results. The detailed scores from CHOICE, the Australian consumer organisation, sit behind its membership paywall, and the owner feedback we could find is thin. This review sets out what the oven is, what it offers, how to check that it fits your kitchen and where the evidence stops.
What the evidence does and does not establish
This review draws on Miele’s published specifications, a model page from CHOICE, one independent owner review and a small set of customer ratings on Miele’s UK site. We have not tested the oven ourselves, so nothing below describes baking, roasting or grilling results from hands-on use.
- Established by the manufacturer: dimensions, cavity volume, shelf count, energy class, per-cycle energy figures, the feature list and the accessories listed for specific markets.
- Not established by the evidence available: consistency across shelves, roast and grill performance, low-temperature baking, long-term reliability and value against rival ovens.
Which version you are looking at
Miele sells the H 7464 BP under different regional material numbers and finishes. The product code, colour, accessory bundle and price all depend on the market, so match the listing to the country where you will buy and install the oven.

Key specifications
The values below are Miele’s published figures. They can change between model revisions, so check them against the manual supplied with your unit.
#1 Best Overall
- Great for making a variety of delicious treats like bacon, jerky, dried fruits, crisp fries, veggies and more
- A healthier option to traditional frying, the pan catches drippings and the nonstick coated steel rack elevates food while the hot air circulates underneath so there's no need for turning foods
- Pan made of formed aluminum which conducts heat rapidly and evenly, resulting in beautifully browned foods no matter what’s on the menu
- Easy clean up, hand wash only. Aluminum is reactive to acidic ingredients such as vinegar and tomato products. These foods may darken, pit or corrode the pan after prolonged use.
- Made in America of domestic and imported materials and components.

Check the cutout and electrical supply before you buy
- Measure the cabinet opening and compare it with the niche values in the table above. The appliance is listed at about 596 mm high, which is slightly taller than the niche range shown, so read the installation sheet to see how the front panel overlaps the opening.
- Confirm that your supply matches the voltage, rated load and fuse in the table. Those figures come from the German listing, so have a qualified electrician check your circuit and isolation arrangements.
- Look up the ventilation clearances and wiring steps in the manual that ships with your unit. This article does not reproduce them, and the specification table is not an installation guide.
Cooking modes and features
Conventional, fan-forced and moisture-plus cooking
Miele lists conventional heat and fan-forced modes alongside moisture-plus cooking, which adds moisture to the cavity during cooking. It is a control for recipes where a cook wants moisture in the oven, and the German listing specifies a 0.3 L fresh-water container for it. We have no test data showing how moisture-plus cooking changes bread crust, roast texture or any other outcome. Treat it as a mode to try, not a proven improvement. Owner feedback that praises the moisture function (see the owner evidence section) is one person’s experience.
Wired food probe
A wired probe lets the oven track the core temperature of the food, which an oven that relies only on time and cavity temperature cannot do. Miele’s UK page lists the probe as included. We have not verified probe accuracy or how the probe programs handle different foods, so follow the probe guidance in your manual and check the core temperature with a separate thermometer the first few times you use it.
Rank #2
- Great for making a variety of delicious treats like bacon, jerky, dried fruits, crisp fries, veggies and more. Air crisp in your oven with this extra large oven crisp baking tray
- A healthier option to traditional frying, the pan catches drippings and the nonstick coated steel rack elevates food while the hot air circulates underneath so there's no need for turning foods
- Pan made of aluminum which conducts heat rapidly and evenly, resulting in beautifully browned foods no matter what’s on the menu with carbon steel rack and heat safe up to 400 degrees
- Made in America of domestic and imported materials and components.
- Extra large pan exterior including rack 21.1 x 15.8 x 2.3 inches, without rack pan measures 21 x 15 x 2 inches. Be sure to check your oven size as this is a large pan.
TasteControl and CrispFunction
Miele lists TasteControl and CrispFunction on its regional product pages. The material we could verify names both without explaining in detail how each one works or how it differs from moisture-plus cooking. Check the operating manual for your market’s model before relying on either.
Rapid heat-up, automatic programs and Miele@home
Miele also lists rapid heat-up, automatic programs and Miele@home connectivity. App and voice-control functions depend on the local model, software version, your account and your home network setup. Do not buy on the assumption of remote control until the current local documentation confirms it.

Cleaning with the pyrolytic cycle
Pyrolytic cleaning is the oven’s self-clean cycle. It appears on both the German and UK listings, and some pages also show PyroFit accessories. The cycle itself and the question of which accessories can stay inside during it are separate. Check the manual for what may remain in the cavity during the cycle, and remove any accessory it does not list as suitable for pyrolytic cleaning.

ProductReview.com.au
This site shows one review. The reviewer said the oven was worth the price, found it easy to use and praised the moisture function and pyrolytic cleaning. That is one owner’s experience. It does not show typical performance or reliability.
Miele UK customer ratings
Miele’s UK page shows a small set of customer ratings and mixed comments. One low rating carries the comment “Not as effective as I expected.” These reviews are hosted on the manufacturer’s own site, and the comments do not say what went wrong. The sample is small and changes over time, so it cannot support a conclusion about long-term satisfaction.
Reading the energy figures
The two per-cycle figures in the specification table are standardised test-cycle values from Miele’s energy data sheet. They are useful for comparing the oven’s energy use in conventional and fan-forced modes, but they are not a forecast of what your household will spend. To estimate a running cost, multiply each mode’s kWh per cycle by how many cycles you run each week, then by your local electricity tariff. For example, 10 conventional cycles a week at 1.10 kWh each comes to 11 kWh per week before the tariff is applied.
How to compare it with other 60 cm built-in ovens
No rival model was assessed in this review, so we cannot say whether this oven is better or worse than any other. When you compare, use the same checks for each oven:
- Verified cutout and electrical requirements from each manufacturer’s installation sheet
- Usable cavity and shelf layout, not just total volume
- Cooking modes, and whether each oven adds steam or offers full-steam cooking
- Temperature-probe type, and whether a probe is included
- Cleaning system and which racks are rated for it
- Included trays and runners
- Control and app features, and what they need to work
- Energy-label figures, read as standardised cycle values
- Current local price and warranty terms
- Independently published results for multi-shelf baking, grilling, roasting and ease of use
Before you buy
- Confirm the material number and finish for your country match the listing you are buying.
- Check the current local price, and whether the probe, trays and runners are included in that package.
- Read the warranty terms with the seller, because they were not established in the evidence behind this review.
- Download or request the installation sheet and check the cutout and electrical supply before ordering.
The Bottom Line
The Miele H 7464 BP is a well-specified 60 cm built-in oven. If you want a 76 L pyrolytic oven with five shelf levels, a wired probe and a moisture mode, and your kitchen and local electrical supply match the listed figures, it is worth considering at a price that suits your market. If your main question is how it bakes on several shelves or roasts compared with rival ovens, the public evidence cannot answer it yet. Check the CHOICE scores through its membership, or test the oven in a showroom before you commit.
