Miami (Ohio) quarterback David McComb was not expected to play against Bowling Green on Saturday, October 3, 2026, according to an October 2 RotoWire report attributed to On3 reporter Pete Nakos. The same report says his outlook for the rest of the season is unclear; it does not establish that his injury is season-ending.
Is David McComb playing against Bowling Green?
As of the October 2 report, McComb was not expected to play in Miami’s October 3 game against Bowling Green. RotoWire attributed the update to Pete Nakos of On3 and reported upper- and lower-body injuries. This is secondary reporting, not an official Miami injury announcement. RotoWire’s injury update
Miami’s official football page lists Bowling Green as the October 3 opponent and records the RedHawks’ September 26 win over Connecticut, 24–21. Its listing of McComb among the team’s statistical leaders, with 1,121 passing yards, does not confirm his availability for the next game. Miami football page · 2026 schedule

The October 2 report says his status for the remainder of the season is unclear. It gives no return date and does not say he is out for the season. The reviewed Miami athletics pages do not confirm the injuries or provide a recovery timeline, so a longer absence cannot be established from those sources.

Miami’s August 31 preseason preview identified redshirt freshman McComb as its expected opening-game quarterback. It said he transferred from Kansas and had not appeared in a game there the previous season. The preview also listed his high-school totals: 7,034 passing yards and 60 passing touchdowns, along with 1,574 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. Those background details predate the October injury report and do not indicate his current availability. Miami’s August 31 season preview
