Meta’s Muse for Small Business is a set of business-focused skills and connectors inside its Muse personal AI agent—not a separate business app. Meta says it can help with marketing, customer replies, financial reviews and operations by working across connected accounts. Whether it is useful depends on whether it can handle tasks your business actually has, connect to the systems you use, and save more time than you spend checking its work. Early examples are not proof of reliable results or a return on investment.

What is Muse for Small Business?

Meta announced Muse for Small Business on September 29, 2026. Rather than introducing a standalone business product, Meta is adding business skills and connectors to Muse, its personal AI agent. The idea is that an owner gives the agent a goal and lets it work with selected business accounts and connected services. Meta’s announcement and Axios’s launch report describe the product in those terms.

Meta says Muse can analyze sales, advertising campaigns and social activity to suggest a growth plan; draft ads, content and customer replies; review financial performance and flag unusual expenses; and assist with cash flow and inventory management. Its business page also describes work on goals and projects in the background. These are advertised capabilities, not independently established performance results. Meta’s Muse business page

What work could it take on?

The clearest fit is routine, information-heavy work that an owner already does across connected services. Meta’s examples span several parts of a small business:

#1 Best Overall
Income and Expense Log Book - Bookkeeping Record Book/Tracker
  • Income And Expense Log Book: This Income and Expense Record Book(8.5" x 10.5") is a necessary item for any small business owner or entrepreneur. It is an essential part of any business - helping you understand your overall earnings to determine if you are profitable.
  • Daily Tracking and Weekly Overview: let our log tell you if you are profitable today! There are two pages per week to help you you track your income and expenses. At the end of each day or week, you can note whether you made a profit or a loss for the day.
  • Clear P&L Statement For Your Business: This income and expense book makes it easy to see your expenses and how they fluctuate from time to time. This makes it easy for you to decide where you can cut back on expenses and assess your total annual net profit.
  • Main Features: Expense Review + Income Review + Weekly Pages + Summary of The Year + Twin-Wire Binding + Waterproof Cover + Rounded corner design + Thicker paper
  • Effective Organization: This budget book has a twin-wire binding and you can easily lay it flat at 180°. This effective design can help you work better and bring you great convenience in the process of using.
  • Marketing: examine campaign and social activity, suggest actions, and draft ads or other content.
  • Customer communication: prepare replies for the owner to review.
  • Finance: review financial performance and flag expenses that appear unusual.
  • Operations: assist with cash-flow and inventory tasks, and work toward goals in the background.

The practical value of each use case depends on the accuracy of the agent’s analysis, whether the relevant information is available through a supported connection, and how much human review the task needs. Meta’s descriptions alone do not establish that Muse can manage these responsibilities safely or consistently without supervision.

Which accounts and services can it connect to?

Meta names Facebook Pages, Instagram professional account analytics and Meta ad accounts, as well as third-party services including Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom. Meta says the current full list appears in Muse app settings and that more connectors are planned. Meta’s announcement

A named service is not a guarantee that every user can connect it or that every relevant feature is available. Before planning a workflow around an integration, check Muse’s settings for its availability and permission scope. Access to a service also does not establish that the agent can perform every task within it.

What controls does Meta say are in place?

Meta says Muse will not publish, send messages or spend money without user approval. The company also describes an audit trail and user control over connected apps. In its separate introduction to the personal agent, Meta describes a dedicated cloud virtual machine, a Sentinel process that approves internet access, and app-permission controls. Those are vendor-stated safeguards; the available launch materials do not independently verify how they behave in real-world use. For a business, approval gates and an audit trail can help keep a person involved in consequential actions, but they do not remove the need to check drafts, analyses and proposed decisions.

Who can use it, and what does it cost?

Meta’s business page says Muse for Small Business is available to people aged 18 or older in the United States and Canada, and that Muse is free for most needs. Launch coverage reported paid tiers: Axios cited prices of $20 and $100 per month, while TechRadar identified them as Power and Max plans and reported weekly allowances of 500 million and 3 billion tokens, respectively. Those prices and token limits are reported launch details, not a guarantee of current terms; check Meta’s product page and in-app plan information before making a budget decision. Is there evidence that businesses need it?

There are early signs of interest, but not evidence of business outcomes. Axios reported Meta vice president of AI products Vishal Shah saying that about a third of early Muse users were already connecting some type of business account. That is an executive-reported figure about early users, not an independently audited adoption measure and not evidence that the agent saves time or increases revenue. Shah also told Axios, “People are using Muse to run their business,” and, “We’re going to make it easier to do so.” Axios

Meta’s launch materials include feedback from small businesses testing the new skills and connectors. One example is Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa. Axios reported that Muse helped his store reconnect to Google Maps after he missed an email. That may illustrate a useful one-off task, but it is a company-shared anecdote, not a controlled case study showing typical results. Meta’s announcement · Axios

The question for an owner is less whether an AI agent can theoretically “run” a business than whether it reliably handles work that is currently consuming the owner’s time. The Associated Press framed the adoption question similarly: “The question is, will people actually use it?” Associated Press

How to decide whether Muse is worth trying

Evaluate it against one recurring task before relying on it for a broader workflow. A useful test is whether the agent can work with the right account, produce an output you can verify, and reduce the total time required after review.

  1. Choose a real bottleneck. Pick a repetitive task—such as preparing a customer-reply draft or reviewing a campaign—rather than an abstract goal like “grow the business.”
  2. Confirm the connection. Check Muse app settings for the service and the specific permission scope you would need.
  3. Keep a person in the loop. Review outputs and approvals, especially before anything is published, sent or spent.
  4. Measure the whole task. Compare the time spent prompting and checking Muse with the time the task takes without it, and judge the quality of the result.
  5. Recheck access and terms. Confirm current eligibility, plan limits and pricing directly before expanding use.

If you compare Muse with another tool, look at task coverage, supported connectors and permissions, approval and audit controls, the human review burden, availability in your location, and the cost at your actual usage. The launch sources do not establish a tested head-to-head winner.
