The $199 Meta Quest 2 deal was a historical promotion, not a verified offer today. HotHardware reported that the 128GB headset was listed for $199 at Amazon and Walmart, while Walmart’s offer included $50 in Meta Quest Store credit. That credit made Walmart the stronger headline deal at the time, but current stock, checkout prices, and bonus terms have not been confirmed.
What the original $199 Quest 2 deal included
HotHardware’s historical deal report covered the standalone Meta Quest 2 with 128GB of storage. It described a $199.99 price at Meta and some retail partners, and $199 at Amazon and Walmart. Walmart’s reported offer also included $50 in Meta Quest Store credit. That added value could make it the better deal for a buyer who could use the credit under the offer’s original terms. The report does not establish that the credit is still offered or clarify current redemption terms.

Is the Quest 2 still available at $199?
Present-day inventory and checkout prices are unverified. A July 2026 deals roundup said Quest 2 and Quest Pro were being retired and that reasonably priced stock was becoming harder to find. That is a dated snapshot rather than a live inventory check. GamesRadar’s July 2026 roundup

- Condition: Confirm whether the unit is new, used, or refurbished.
- Checkout total: Check the final price, including any shipping or other charges shown before purchase.
- Bonus value: Verify whether store credit or bundle items are actually included, and check their redemption restrictions and expiry terms.
- Seller and returns: Review who fulfills the order and the applicable return terms.
- Fit for your needs: Consider whether the older headset’s capabilities suit you better than paying for a newer model.
Do not count optional accessories as part of the old $199 offer. A carrying case or PC link cable would be a separate purchase unless a specific current listing says otherwise.
