Short answer: Maya Mobile is a data-only travel eSIM aimed at people who want one profile for trips across multiple countries. As of October 9, 2026, its Global plans cost $9.99 for 3 days, $19.99 for 7 days, $27.99 for 14 days, or $49.99 for 30 days. The tradeoffs are fixed durations, no local phone number, reliance on partner networks, and conflicting descriptions of how much high-speed data is included.
This review evaluates Maya’s published terms, coverage information, support guidance, and an independent review; it is not based on purchasing or testing a Maya plan.
What Maya Mobile eSIM includes
Maya’s Global eSIM is a prepaid, data-only service that the company advertises in 165+ countries. The terms say service is delivered through local roaming networks, and availability in a particular country is not guaranteed. Coverage and performance depend on local network availability, regulation, and third-party agreements.

These are vendor-published inventory figures, not independent measurements of signal or performance at a particular destination. Check the country-level coverage table for the named partner and connection type rather than relying on the total country count.

The plan provides mobile data, not a local phone number, voice minutes, or SMS. You may be able to keep your regular SIM active for calls and texts, depending on your phone and carrier configuration, but those services do not come with Maya’s data plan.
Plans and prices
Maya’s current Global plan prices in its terms and on its product page, checked October 9, 2026, are:
| Plan duration | Price | How it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | $9.99 | Short trips that fit within three plan days |
| 7 days | $19.99 | A five-day trip would require this option |
| 14 days | $27.99 | A ten-day trip would require this option |
| 30 days | $49.99 | Longer trips within the listed duration |
Maya defines a plan day as 24 hours from the time the plan starts. The durations are fixed rather than tailored to every itinerary, so the total price—not a headline daily rate—is the useful starting point for comparing options. Prices can change; confirm the amount and terms at checkout.

Is Maya Mobile really unlimited?
Do not read “unlimited” as unlimited high-speed data. Maya’s terms say each plan has a daily high-speed quota and that data is not cut off after it is used: speeds then depend on local network conditions. The Global product page, however, says there are no caps or throttling. TechRadar Pro’s October 8, 2026 review reports that Maya’s Help Center describes speed reduction after more than 3 GB in a day, with possible further reductions after continued very high use.
Those descriptions do not establish one consistent current threshold or the speeds customers will receive after it. Treat the daily high-speed allowance and post-allowance speeds as unresolved, and check the plan terms and support information shown before purchase. The available information supports saying that data may continue after a high-speed allowance; it does not support promising unlimited full-speed data.

Who is Maya Mobile a good fit for?
It may suit multi-country travelers
A single installed eSIM that can be reused for a later plan is convenient if you travel repeatedly and your destinations are covered. Maya’s terms say an eSIM can remain installed after a plan expires and be enabled again after purchasing another plan. This is a statement in the company’s terms, not an independently tested reuse result.
It is less suited to exact-duration or single-country needs
A traveler staying five days pays for the seven-day option, while a ten-day stay requires the 14-day plan. For a single-country trip, compare Maya’s listed local network partner and available connection type with country-specific alternatives. A larger coverage count does not tell you which network will serve a particular town, building, or route.
Check device and feature requirements
- Your phone must be both unlocked and eSIM-compatible. Maya does not guarantee compatibility with every model or software version; check its installation and compatibility information before buying.
- If you need a local number or included voice and SMS, Maya’s data-only plan does not meet that need.
- Hotspot and internet sharing are supported on iOS and Android plans according to Maya’s support team, but local operators may restrict the feature in some situations.
How to compare Maya with another travel eSIM
Compare the options against the trip you actually plan to take, not just their advertised country counts or per-day prices:
- Destination and network: Confirm every country on the itinerary is listed, then inspect the partner network and connection type for each one in Maya’s coverage table.
- Duration and total cost: Match the itinerary to a 3-, 7-, 14-, or 30-day plan and account for days that may go unused.
- Speed policy: Check the stated daily high-speed allowance and what happens after it. Maya’s current materials are inconsistent on this point.
- Phone and usage needs: Verify that the device is unlocked and compatible, and decide whether data-only service and conditional hotspot access are sufficient.
- Support and refund terms: Read the current purchase terms, including eligibility and request deadlines, before relying on a refund if something goes wrong.
Setup, hotspot, and account controls
Use Maya’s current installation instructions for device-specific steps. Check compatibility before checkout, install the eSIM according to the instructions for your phone, and confirm destination coverage before depending on the connection. Setup steps were not independently verified on a handset for this review.
If hotspot or internet sharing is unavailable after installation, Maya’s support article recommends restarting the device; local operator restrictions may still apply.
Rank #3
- Universal Carrier Compatibility: This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.)
- Carrier Verification Required: Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility
- Simple Activation Process: When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service
- Package Contents: The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable
- Battery Health Guarantee: Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%
Plans are prepaid. Maya’s terms say Auto Top-Up is optional and off by default. If you enable it, you authorize another purchase when the plan expires; the terms say it can be disabled at any time.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesRefunds if Maya eSIM does not work
Maya’s current written terms describe several possible remedies, each subject to its stated conditions:
- An unused plan may qualify for a full refund, less possible payment-processing fees, if requested within 30 days of purchase.
- A plan that has been activated but is completely unusable because of an error by Maya may qualify for a full refund if Maya cannot fix it within 10 days of the refund request.
- If an infrastructure problem reduces the value of part of an activated plan, the terms describe a proportional partial refund. The request must be made within 30 days of the issue, and the customer must cooperate with troubleshooting.
- Other cases, including trip cancellation after activation and data use, generally do not qualify under the terms. Card refunds can take up to 30 business days.
These are the company’s written terms, not a guarantee that an individual claim will be approved. If the purchase or service predates the current terms, check the policy that applied at checkout or contact Maya support.
Verdict
Maya Mobile is worth considering if you want a reusable data eSIM for multiple trips, your destinations and partner networks suit your route, and one of the four plan durations fits your schedule. It is a weaker fit if you need a local number, an exact-length plan, a particular carrier, or a clearly established high-speed data limit. Confirm compatibility, destination-level coverage, and the current speed and refund terms before paying.
