A Call of Duty Competitive subreddit thread dated October 7, 2026, reports that Maven is stepping away from Call of Duty League (CDL) casting and discusses a relationship disclosure involving MerK’s former wife. The report has not been independently confirmed by the league or by an original statement available in the sources reviewed, so the departure and relationship details should be treated as community-reported, not established fact. The Reddit discussion is also not evidence of an affair or of when the relationship began.
What is reported about Maven and the CDL?
A Reddit thread posted on October 7 says Maven is stepping away from CDL casting. That thread is the available source for the breaking claim; the sources reviewed do not include an official CDL announcement or an independently retrieved statement from Maven confirming it. The league’s official website identifies a 2026 season, but does not establish this reported departure.
The professional context is clearer than the breaking news. Dot Esports interviewed Clint “Maven” Evans and Joseph “MerK” DeLuca during the 2026 CDL Championship weekend and described them as casting colleagues. Monster Energy also published a MerK and Maven discussion of CDL Major One on February 27, 2026, showing their public professional association earlier in the year.

The Reddit discussion raises a relationship involving MerK’s former wife, but the available material does not establish when that relationship began relative to any separation or divorce. It also does not establish what MerK has said. Comments in the thread are reactions, not independent confirmation.

Because that timeline is unknown, the available information does not support describing the relationship as an affair or asserting that it began before or after a separation or divorce. No verified, attributable quote from either Maven or MerK’s original statement was available in the sources reviewed.
What has been confirmed, and what remains unconfirmed?
- Public professional association: Dot Esports’ August 4, 2026, Championship-weekend interview and Monster Energy’s February 2026 discussion place Maven and MerK in CDL casting coverage earlier in the year.
- Reported departure: A community thread dated October 7 reports that Maven is stepping away from CDL casting; no official league confirmation or independently retrieved original statement is available in the sources reviewed.
- Relationship and timing: The thread discusses a relationship disclosure involving MerK’s former wife, but the start date, its timing relative to any separation or divorce, and MerK’s response are not established.
Why the distinction matters
This is a developing story, and the strongest available account of the departure is a community post rather than an official announcement or independent report. Until Maven, the CDL, or reliable independent reporting confirms the details, the careful description is that a Reddit thread reports he is stepping away. Claims about the relationship timeline or the people involved should not be treated as confirmed based on comments alone.
