Recalibrating a Samsung washer means running the calibration routine that is built into your specific model, and the button sequence differs from one family to another. On many US models the sequence is to press and hold Temp. and Delay End together until “Cb” appears, then press Start/Pause. That pattern is common, not universal. Some models need the washer switched on before you enter Calibration mode, some need it off, and some have no calibration mode at all. Your model’s user manual or Samsung’s support page for that exact model should control the steps.
What calibration does
Calibration helps the washer detect the weight of the load more accurately. The washer uses that load-weight reading to decide how much water to add, so an inaccurate reading can lead to a wash that uses too much or too little water. Calibration does not change your wash programs or fix a mechanical fault. It resets the machine’s load-weight detection to a known baseline.
When to run calibration
Samsung recommends calibration in three situations:
- After the washer is installed.
- After you make an adjustment to the appliance.
- When weight detection or the amount of water used seems inaccurate.
Before you start, make sure the washer is in its final position and secured. Calibration done on a machine that is still being moved or leveled can capture a poor baseline.

Before you start
- Remove all laundry and any other items from the drum or tub.
- Confirm the washer is in its intended location and that its feet are secured.
- Find the instructions for your exact model number, which is printed on the rating label inside the door or on the back panel.
A small bubble level can help you check that the washer sits level, which supports stable spinning. It is not part of the calibration procedure, and Samsung’s steps do not list it. Samsung’s spin troubleshooting does discuss adjusting the washer legs for stability, so use the level only as a setup check.
Find the procedure for your model
Samsung’s documented procedures differ by model family. The table below shows the variables that change the steps. Use your manual to fill in the details for your own machine.

General steps, where your model supports calibration
- Remove all laundry and other contents from the washer.
- Look up the instructions for your exact model. Check whether the washer should be on or off when you enter Calibration mode, and confirm the button combination.
- On many US models, press and hold Temp. and Delay End together for about three seconds until “Cb” appears. If your model needs a different starting power state, set that first.
- Press Start/Pause to begin. The tub or drum rotates back and forth. On front-load models the door may lock during the cycle, so do not force it open.
- Wait for the completion cue. Samsung’s general US troubleshooting guidance lists “En,” “End,” or “0.” Some models turn off automatically when finished.
Samsung describes the usual calibration duration as one to three minutes. This is the company’s procedure-duration range, not a measured study result, and the time you see on your machine may differ.

Model examples
Front-load WF50BG83 family
The cited instructions for this family use Temp. + Delay End to enter the mode, a hold of Start/Pause to run it, and a locked door during the operation. These steps apply to the WF50BG83 family only. Model suffix letters vary, so confirm that your machine’s model number matches.

Top-load WA52M7750A and WA52M7755A families
The cited instructions for these models use Temp. + Delay End while the washer is powered on, then a single press of Start/Pause. The pulsator rotates for about one minute, and “End” appears when the procedure is complete.
Models with alternate panels
Samsung’s regional support pages also describe panels that use a navigation dial, a Settings menu, or separate controls for FlexWash upper and lower washers. Those models do not follow the Temp. + Delay End pattern in the same way. Do not try button combinations at random on these panels. Identify the model, then follow its manual.

If the tub or drum does not rotate when you start calibration, stop and contact Samsung support to arrange service. Do not treat a calibration that never started, or one that was interrupted before a completion cue, as successful.

Calibration is a reasonable first check when your washer seems to over-fill for the load size, because the water amount depends on the load-weight reading. Run calibration only after you have confirmed the load is empty and the machine is positioned correctly. If the washer still uses too much water after a successful calibration, the cause may be a water-fill or sensor fault that needs model-specific troubleshooting, and that falls outside what calibration can fix.

These steps are drawn from Samsung US Support pages and installation instructions for the models named above. Samsung revises its support content and model documentation over time, so compare what you see on your washer with the current manual for your exact model before you rely on any step.
