Marvel’s Wolverine has an officially announced New Game Plus (NG+) mode that offers exclusive Techniques and Level Caps. As of October 7, 2026, the official material available does not say how to unlock NG+, how to start it, what carries over from a first playthrough, or what the Level Caps and Technique names are. This guide separates what PlayStation and Insomniac Games have confirmed from what remains open.
What the official announcement confirms
PlayStation Blog published a feature post on August 28, 2026, titled “Marvel’s Wolverine: Details on Logan’s mutant abilities, game features, and more.” It is the main official source for NG+ and it confirms the following:
- NG+ is a named feature of the game. The post describes it as offering exclusive Techniques and Level Caps.
- Replay features sit alongside it. The same post lists Mission Replay, Nightmare Challenges, and Photo Mode.
- Photo Mode arrives with a day-one update. The post marks it as available with a day-one update, and says it can be used at any point during gameplay.
What is not yet confirmed
The official sources reviewed for this guide, current to October 7, 2026, leave the following open. Treat any claim outside these sources as unverified, and do not assume rules from earlier Insomniac games apply here.
- Unlock condition: whether finishing the campaign is required before NG+ becomes available.
- Start path: the menu location or steps needed to begin an NG+ run.
- Carryover: whether suits, Techniques, Adaptations, upgrades, collectibles, or materials transfer into a new run.
- Level Caps: the numeric values, and how they interact with standard progression.
- Exclusive Techniques: their names, unlock requirements, and effects.
- Difficulty and encounters: whether NG+ offers difficulty selection or changes enemy encounters.
- Nightmare Challenges: whether they have any specific connection to NG+.
Because of these gaps, a step-by-step NG+ walkthrough would be guesswork. The sections below stick to what is on record.

Replay features compared
The official post describes each replay option by what the player gets to do, not by how it is unlocked. The table uses the same axis.
| Feature | Official description (PlayStation Blog, August 28, 2026) | What it lets you do | Unlock method | Carryover |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New Game Plus | Exclusive Techniques and Level Caps | Pursue exclusive Techniques and Level Caps | Not stated | Not stated |
| Mission Replay | Re-experience snippets of the story | Replay story snippets | Not stated | Not stated |
| Nightmare Challenges | Slash high scores | Compete for high scores in challenges | Not stated | Not stated |
| Photo Mode | Crop masterpieces at any point during gameplay (available with a day-one update) | Capture and crop images during play | Available at any point during gameplay | Not stated |
Mission Replay and Nightmare Challenges are named as separate features. The announcement does not say they are entered or progressed through the same way as NG+.

Game context that shapes replay
- Release: Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Marvel’s Wolverine launched worldwide on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
- Structure: The PlayStation game page describes a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure that is not set in an open world. Replay value in this game therefore centers on story, challenge, and mode-specific goals rather than revisiting a large map.
