Marvel has announced three Marvel Zombies animated specials for Disney+, scheduled across 2027, 2028 and 2029. The first, The Winter Soldier, is slated for Halloween 2027. The later titles hint at Moon Knight and the Guardians of the Galaxy, but Marvel has not confirmed the characters involved in those stories.
When is the next Marvel Zombies coming out?
The next announced installment is Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier, scheduled for Halloween 2027. Marvel also announced two more specials, but gave only release years for them—not exact dates.

These are the release windows announced at New York Comic Con; no other specific release dates were reported. Marvel announced Disney+ as the specials’ streaming destination.
Is Moon Knight in the new Marvel Zombies?
The Fist of Khonshu is a title-based clue pointing toward Moon Knight, whose mythology is associated with Khonshu. It is not confirmation that Moon Knight will appear, nor does the announcement establish which characters will feature in the special. Treat the connection as a strong title implication, not a confirmed casting or story detail.

Who is the Last Guardian?
Marvel has not disclosed the identity of The Last Guardian. The title suggests a connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy, but naming a particular Guardian would go beyond what has been confirmed. At the Marvel Television and Animation panel, executive Brad Winderbaum said, “I won’t tell you who The Last Guardian is, but it’s very, very exciting,” according to GamesRadar+’s live coverage.
Are these a second season of Marvel Zombies?
The announcement describes three specials planned across 2027–2029. Winderbaum called The Last Guardian “the culmination,” and said the team was roughly halfway through animatics at the time of the panel. Those comments do not establish whether Marvel formally considers the plan a second season, whether it replaces a previously planned season, or whether the franchise ends with the 2029 special.

Disney+ is the announced streaming platform. The announcement does not provide more detailed regional availability or release-day scheduling for the 2028 and 2029 specials.

Marvel Zombies began as a Marvel Comics limited series developed by Robert Kirkman and went on to have sequels, spin-offs and crossovers. Readers interested in that comics background can explore the Marvel Zombies comic series; the comics connection does not establish that a particular edition is an official tie-in to the upcoming specials.
