Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls ranked third in the reported August 2026 U.S. video-game sales chart, behind NBA 2K27 and Madden NFL 27. Separately, PS5 hardware spending rose year over year even though fewer consoles were sold. Those are two distinct findings; the hardware figures do not show that the game caused a change in PS5 sales.
Where Marvel Tokon placed in August
Push Square reported that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls took third place in Circana’s August 2026 U.S. software sales chart. The report says the chart tracks physical and digital sales in the United States. The two games ahead of it were NBA 2K27 and Madden NFL 27.

That is a monthly chart position, not a disclosed sales total. The report does not give a number of copies sold or title-specific revenue, so third place cannot be converted into either figure. Nor does a single month’s rank establish lifetime performance or, on its own, prove that the game was a commercial success.

August rank is not the same as year-to-date rank
Push Square also displayed a separate top ten for 2026 year-to-date. Marvel Tokon was not listed in that displayed year-to-date chart. Its reported third place refers to August alone and should not be read as a year-to-date position.

PS5 hardware spending rose while unit sales fell
In the same account of Circana’s August figures, PS5 hardware dollar sales were up 17% year over year, while PS5 hardware unit sales were down 11%. The measures moved in opposite directions: more money was spent on hardware overall, but fewer units were sold.
Push Square suggested price increases as a likely explanation for that divergence. The figures alone do not establish the cause, and the spending change is not evidence that Marvel Tokon drove PS5 hardware sales.

What the hardware figures do—and do not—say
The article also reported that the Midnight Black PS Portal was the month’s third best-selling accessory and that Remote Play handheld sales rose 39% year over year. These are accessory and handheld-category findings, not additional measurements of Marvel Tokon sales.

Its article cautions that Circana relies substantially on projected sales and that some major publishers, including Microsoft, no longer provide official data to the aggregator. The available account does not establish how much of this particular game’s ranking came from estimates, so the placement is best described as a reported chart result rather than a verified count of every sale.
