Marsh Risk appointed Linda Jones its U.S. Healthcare Industry Practice Leader, effective immediately in September 2026. Based in Washington, D.C., she will lead healthcare strategy and client engagement for the practice, reporting to Darren Cromwell. Jones succeeds Gisele “Gigi” Norris, who is shifting her focus to Marsh’s Global Commercial Industry Leader role.
What Jones’s new role covers
As U.S. Healthcare Industry Practice Leader at Marsh Risk, Jones will oversee the practice’s healthcare strategy and client engagement. Her reporting line is to Darren Cromwell, Marsh Risk’s Industry Practice Group Leader for the U.S. and Canada. The appointment announcement does not provide further detail on changes to the practice’s services or structure.
Jones’s background at Marsh and in healthcare
Jones joined Marsh in 2018 and most recently served as the company’s U.S. Healthcare Growth & Innovation Leader.
Published accounts give different totals for her experience, and describe it in different terms. Risk & Insurance and Insurance Journal say Jones has 40 years advising health systems, hospitals, managed care organizations and other provider groups on risk management strategies. Cromwell’s LinkedIn announcement describes her as having “more than 30 years of experience in healthcare and insurance.” These are attributed descriptions, not a single undisputed career total.

Who Jones succeeds
Jones succeeds Norris, who is moving her focus to Marsh’s Global Commercial Industry Leader role. Cromwell’s LinkedIn announcement thanked Norris for leading the healthcare practice for five years, while Norris welcomed Jones as the leader of the Marsh Healthcare Team.
Marsh’s stated rationale
Cromwell described Jones as bringing “deep industry expertise, strong leadership, and a client-centric approach to everything she does,” according to Risk & Insurance. His LinkedIn post also cited her industry knowledge, strategic approach to risk and commitment to helping clients address current challenges while planning for the future.

When the appointment took effect
The reports agree that Jones’s appointment took effect in September 2026, but give conflicting calendar dates. Insurance Journal dates it to September 16; Reinsurance News, in coverage published September 18, says September 15. Risk & Insurance describes it as effective immediately without giving a date. In the absence of a definitive dated Marsh announcement, the timing is best stated as effective immediately in September 2026.
