Walmart’s October 5–7 Seller Center updates include a new inactivity suspension policy, assortment and brand-content tools, and changes to Cross Border Imports booking. Amazon highlighted seller tools at Accelerate 2026, Etsy outlined features that are testing or rolling out, and eBay reported a new condition for certain salvage-vehicle parts. Here’s what sellers should know, including which changes are limited or planned.
What changed on Walmart Marketplace this week?

Inactive accounts may face suspension
Under Walmart’s Trust and Safety policy, Marketplace accounts inactive for 455 consecutive days may be suspended. Walmart says it will send email and SMS notifications beforehand. After an inactivity suspension, sellers have 90 days to appeal and request reactivation. Walmart also says an account may be terminated if it is suspended and the appeal is not resolved.
Assortment Growth recommendations
The Assortment Growth tool now lets sellers select a growth strategy or describe their goals to get item recommendations. Walmart says recommendations explain why an item is suggested, point to relevant trends, and offer a next action. Sellers can begin item setup from the dashboard.

Brand Highlights for eligible brand owners
Eligible brand owners can create product-page Brand Highlights with images, video, and text. The self-service content can be applied to up to 500 items at once and revised later.
Cross Border Imports FCL booking windows
When capacity is available, sellers can book eligible full-container-load Cross Border Imports shipments up to 60 days before the Cargo Ready Date. Rates become fixed 10 days before the container reaches the origin container-yard gate-in. Sellers can change the Cargo Ready Date up to three times before a transport plan is assigned.
Simplified Shipping Settings
Walmart says migration from Shipping Templates to Simplified Shipping Settings is easier. Sellers configure carriers, delivery speeds, regions, and charges; Walmart then calculates transit times and selects a fulfillment center based on those settings.

What did Amazon announce for sellers at Accelerate 2026?

Listing Protection and Account Health
Amazon says Listing Protection is intended to add due process to Account Health. In most cases, a flagged listing remains active while Amazon reviews the issue, and sellers receive steps to resolve or challenge errors. Amazon vice president of Selling Partner Trust and Store Integrity Claire O’Donnell said the program would reach all U.S. Account Health Assurance sellers by the end of 2026 and expand worldwide in 2027. Those are announced rollout targets, not confirmation that every seller already has access.
Seller Central data connections to AI tools
Amazon says sellers can connect Seller Central data to external AI tools through a plugin, starting with Anthropic’s Claude and Amazon Quick in the U.S. The recap does not establish availability beyond that stated geography or identify a broader rollout date.
Amazon Business Deals
Amazon Business Deals let sellers set volume pricing that is visible only to business buyers. The recap describes the feature but does not specify a general availability date.

Amazon says it plans to remove the invitation requirement for its lending program by year-end 2026, opening access to every seller. It also cited SBA-backed loans of up to $5 million through added lending partners. These are Amazon’s announced plans and a stated loan ceiling, not a guarantee that every seller will qualify or receive financing.

Managing multiple sales channels and supply chain services
Amazon described new tools for managing catalog, orders, and inventory for Amazon, Walmart, eBay, TikTok Shop, and Shopify inside Seller Central. It also described Amazon Supply Chain Services as modular freight, storage, distribution, fulfillment, and shipping for outside businesses.
What Etsy seller tools are rolling out?
Etsy’s fall seller update, published September 28, 2026, covers listing creation, personalization, shop access, appeals, and shop insights. Some features are limited tests or beta and may not be available to every seller. Etsy fall seller update
Faster listing creation is in limited testing
Etsy is testing a quick-list form that suggests titles, tags, attributes, and other listing details based on sellers’ photos and descriptions. Testing is with a limited group, with access expanding gradually.

Sellers can charge for custom options, reuse them across listings, bulk-edit them, and manage them on the web or in the Etsy Seller app.

Shared shop access and expanded appeals
Shared shop access is intended to help sellers delegate work such as managing orders, listings, and buyer messages. Etsy also says it expects to extend appeals across most policy areas to all sellers by the end of 2026.
Shop insights are testing or beta
Marketplace Insights recommendations and the AI-powered Stats assistant are described as testing or beta features, so access may vary.
