Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s campaign replaced its “GLUE-ZYN-KAMP” storage tin after ZYN parent company Philip Morris International reportedly objected to the name. The new tin says “Marie for Congress”; the available report describes a campaign redesign, not a court ruling.
Why did the campaign remove “Zyn”?
The campaign had offered a puck-shaped storage tin labeled “GLUE-ZYN-KAMP,” echoing the circular packaging associated with ZYN nicotine pouches. According to The Hill report syndicated by AOL, Philip Morris International (PMI), ZYN’s parent company, asked the campaign to stop using the name.
A PMI spokesperson reportedly told Oregon Public Broadcasting that the product violated the company’s ZYN trademark and that the campaign must cease using it. That is the company’s stated position as reported; the available account does not establish that a formal cease-and-desist letter was served or that a court found infringement.

The replacement keeps the round, pocket-sized form but changes the wording to “Marie for Congress.” The Hill’s syndicated report says it came in green and black and featured a “Teamster Made” logo.

- TOP-GRADE ALUMINUM – NO RUST, LASTS FOR YEARS: Constructed from high-end aluminum instead of cheap tin, this metal wall sign builds a natural oxide layer that blocks rust, corrosion, and moisture damage. It remains flawless in humid settings like bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor decks, easily outliving regular tin signs that tarnish and rust.
- HIGH-RES UV PRINTING – CRISP, VIVID, FADE-PROOF: Created with professional UV-cured printing for precise details, bold color gradients, and superior ink adhesion. The ink chemically locks into the aluminum, resisting scuffs, sun exposure, and everyday handling. It stays bright and sharp for years—even outside—without peeling, cracking, or fading.
- 8 x 12 INCH DIMENSIONS – LIGHTWEIGHT & RESILIENT: The 8 x 12 inch size—about a standard letter page—fits any wall beautifully and stands out as a decor focal point. The flexible aluminum bounces back from minor bends during shipping just press flat by hand and no crease lingers. Four pre-drilled holes enable quick hanging with nails, rope, or double-sided tape on walls, fences, or doors.
- LUXE METAL TEXTURE – ENHANCES ANY ROOM: The smooth aluminum finish delivers a polished metallic look that elevates any space, far exceeding the appearance of ordinary tin or iron signs. Ideal for man caves, garages, bathrooms, backyards, farmhouses, bars, and offices, and a unique, durable gift for vintage decor fans.
- SHOP WITH CONFIDENCE GUARANTEE: We stand fully behind our metal signs. If any product arrives defective or damaged, simply reach out and we will resolve the issue to your complete satisfaction.

What is—and is not—established about the trademark dispute?
The available reporting describes a company objection followed by a change to campaign merchandise. It does not report a court decision or a final legal finding about trademark liability. The distinction matters: PMI’s reported demand is the company’s position, not a judicial determination.
