To manage a Managed Hermes application, sign in to the dashboard, choose Hermes in the sidebar, locate the installation, and select Manage. From there, you can maintain the instance, configure AI providers, inspect logs and backups, and manage access. The controls apply to the managed application environment—not the underlying host server.
Find the application and open its controls
- Sign in to the dashboard and select Hermes in the sidebar.
- Find the installation in the application list. Its card shows the instance name, status, expiry date, quick-access option, Manage, and an options menu.
- Select Manage to open its settings and maintenance controls.
The Hermes overview can list active installations and AI resource information. It supports switching between Hermes Agent and OpenClaw applications. See Hostinger’s application management guide and Hermes overview for the documented dashboard workflow.
Open the app and check its status
Select Open App for quick access to the Hermes interface. Access requires the gateway token; copy it from the options menu or use the dashboard’s Access key button. Keep this token private.
A Running status indicates that the instance is running, but it does not guarantee that every request will succeed. If the app reports an error, inspect its settings and logs rather than treating the status label as an all-clear.

Restart, update, or delete an instance
Restart
In Manage, use Restart to reboot the instance. The options menu also provides a reboot action. A restart may interrupt connected apps or active work.
Update
Check App details for the installed Hermes Agent version. When an update is available, use the displayed Update action.
Delete
The options menu includes deletion. Hostinger says deleting an application cannot be undone, so verify that you have anything you need to keep before confirming.

Manage AI credits, keys, and provider settings
Check credits and provider keys
The dashboard can show and top up nexos.ai credits. A negative balance or a 402 budget reached error indicates that a top-up is needed. Oxylabs credits are relevant when web-content access was selected at purchase. The dashboard also lets you copy or rotate provider keys.
Rotating a shared nexos.ai or Oxylabs key restarts connected Managed Hermes and OpenClaw applications. After confirmation, any application still using the old key will stop working until its configuration is updated.
Choose a provider and model
Documented provider settings include nexos.ai, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini. Enter the provider’s API key and select a model. A valid key and available credits are required to process requests. Follow Hostinger’s provider and model instructions for the corresponding dashboard settings.

Connect a ChatGPT subscription

The Hostinger Connector lets the agent read and manage Hostinger resources such as VPS instances, domains, DNS, email, and billing. Hostinger documents a minimum Hermes version of v2026.6.5-10. Connecting or disconnecting the connector restarts the application. Details are in Hostinger’s Hermes Agent overview.
Edit environment variables
In the environment-variable controls, values are hidden by default. You can reveal, edit, add, or delete variables; core system variables cannot be deleted. Hostinger documents changing the gateway password or token through this area. Treat edits carefully because incorrect values can prevent the application from working as intended.

Use logs to investigate errors
The logs view supports live viewing, refresh, copy, and download. Its AI analysis action produces a summary and suggested actions; use those suggestions as diagnostic help, not as a guaranteed fix. Hostinger describes the feature in its logs insights guide.
View, download, or restore backups
Hostinger says backups are created once per day and retained for seven days. They become available after the application has been active for at least 24 hours. In the dashboard, you can view or download a backup, restore it, and audit past restores. Review the restore point before applying it, since restoring can replace the application’s current state. Use the browser CLI and understand its boundary
The dashboard provides a browser terminal for commands within the Hermes application environment. Its access is contained within the application’s isolated storage boundary; it does not provide root access to the underlying host server. Users who need full host-level root privileges should consider VPS hosting instead. Hostinger explains the boundary in its CLI guide.

Check storage and renew the plan
Storage
The dashboard documents an option to upgrade application storage to 50 GB; Hostinger says the upgrade applies immediately after purchase.
Renewal
Plan details show the plan name and expiration date. To renew, choose a renewal period and payment method, then complete payment in the dashboard.

Protect credentials and avoid avoidable outages
- Hostinger advises: “Treat AI providers API keys and your Hermes gateway token like passwords: do not share them publicly or include them in client-side code.”
- Before rotating a shared provider key, identify connected apps that use it and prepare to update their settings; rotation restarts those apps and makes the old key unusable for them.
- Before deleting an application or restoring a backup, check which data or current state may be lost.
- If requests fail while the instance is marked Running, check provider credentials, available credits, and logs.
