The Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD is most compelling for a large, hilly or complicated lawn where all-wheel drive, wire-free mapping and multiple mowing zones solve real problems. Its terrain capability and wide deck are promising, but an independent review of the 3000 also found grass scuffing on turns and a somewhat glitchy app. For a small, straightforward lawn, it is likely more mower—and expense—than you need.
What is the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD?
Announced at CES 2026 and on sale from January 5, 2026, the LUBA 3 AWD is Mammotion’s wire-free, all-wheel-drive robotic mower range. It is offered in multiple capacity levels, with navigation and cutting-height differences among configurations. Mammotion calls its navigation approach Tri-Fusion, combining 360-degree LiDAR, NetRTK and dual-camera AI vision, but that description should not be taken to mean every variant uses the same positioning setup.
Mammotion CEO Jayden Wei described the product strategy at CES 2026 as matching technology to the lawn: “MAMMOTION enters 2026 with a sharper, more disciplined product portfolio built on the philosophy that every lawn requires the right technology, not just more technology.” That is the company’s positioning, not an independent performance finding. Mammotion’s product page and its CES announcement describe the range and its features.

TechRadar’s March 29, 2026 review covers the LUBA 3 AWD 3000, not every model in the range. The reviewer says they used it for a couple of weeks and tried obstacle avoidance, multi-zone mowing and a steep hill climb. They praised mowing performance, navigation, slope handling and the wide cutting deck. Their reported drawbacks were grass scuffing at turns, a somewhat glitchy app and high cost. The review cautions that the mower may not suit people with small lawns or those seeking gentler turning behavior. These observations reflect one reviewer’s experience with one model and lawn, rather than a guarantee of results on other properties. Read TechRadar’s LUBA 3 AWD 3000 review.

Which LUBA 3 AWD model fits your lawn?
On its US product page, Mammotion lists the 1500, 3000 and 5000 for stated lawn capacities of 0.37, 0.75 and 1.25 acres, respectively. TechRadar gives the 3000’s maximum lawn area as 3,000 m². Treat these as variant-specific capacity figures, not a promise that a mower will handle every lawn of that size equally well: layout, obstacles, terrain and mowing schedule matter. Choose with margin rather than matching your lawn’s area to the advertised ceiling.
| Model or specification | Published value | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| LUBA 3 AWD 1500 | 0.37 acres, Mammotion US product page | Mammotion describes this configuration as LiDAR plus AI Vision positioning, without RTK/NetRTK. Verify the exact listing and included service. |
| LUBA 3 AWD 3000 | 0.75 acres on Mammotion’s US page; 3,000 m² maximum lawn area in TechRadar’s review | Figures come from different sources and should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees. Confirm local specifications. |
| LUBA 3 AWD 5000 | 1.25 acres, Mammotion US product page | Confirm the specific SKU’s navigation configuration and connectivity entitlement. |
| High-cut variants | Distinct cutting-height option; exact range not stated in the cited Mammotion material | Check that the listing is specifically for a high-cut version if you need that configuration. |
For the 3000, TechRadar lists a 40 cm cutting width and a standard cutting-height range of 25–70 mm. Those are model-specific specifications; check the exact regional version and whether the standard or high-cut configuration is being sold.

How do navigation and connectivity vary?
Mammotion says the LUBA 3’s LiDAR provides 360° by 59° coverage and detection up to 70 m; these are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. Its iNavi system uses NetRTK via 4G on supported models, which Mammotion describes as avoiding the need for a physical RTK base station. The 1500 is a notable exception to broad Tri-Fusion descriptions: the manufacturer describes it as LiDAR and AI Vision positioning without RTK/NetRTK.

How capable is it on slopes and uneven ground?
All-wheel drive is central to the LUBA 3’s appeal for lawns with steep or uneven sections. Mammotion advertises a maximum slope of 80% (38.6°), while TechRadar reports testing a steep hill climb and praises the 3000’s slope handling. The 80% figure is a manufacturer maximum, not a guarantee for every grass type, surface condition or slope shape. Consider the mower’s route, the condition of the turf and how it must turn as well as the steepest gradient.
Turning deserves particular attention if your lawn is delicate or prone to visible tire marks: TechRadar reported grass scuffing during turns. That caveat is relevant even if the mower can climb a slope, because traction and turning impact are different parts of lawn performance.

- Compatible with all robotic lawnmowers, excluding the YUKA series.
- Simply place the robot mower on the stand to lift the chassis for easy and stable access to clean the blades and the bottom.
- Simplifies maintenance by thorough all-round cleaning and protects the robotic lawnmower from dirt and moisture during the washing process.
Is the LUBA 3 AWD worth the price?
The cited independent review characterizes the 3000 as expensive, but no stable price is established here; live pricing, promotions and stock can change. Judge the premium against what your property demands. A large lawn with slopes, multiple zones and an aversion to perimeter-wire installation gives its capabilities more potential value. For a small or simple lawn, TechRadar’s review suggests it may be overkill and that less costly alternatives may suffice.
Before buying, compare the exact model’s capacity and cutting height, check whether it supports iNavi/NetRTK and how long its connectivity service lasts, and review current local warranty, support and app terms. Mammotion’s product page also notes Straight-Line Adjustment as expected later in 2026; confirm whether it has actually launched for your model rather than assuming it is available.
Who should buy the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD?
- Consider it if you have a sufficiently large, sloped or uneven lawn, several mowing zones, and want a wire-free setup—provided the particular variant’s capacity and service match your property.
- Think carefully if turf scuffing at turns would be a serious issue, or if your lawn has connectivity limitations that could affect a model’s network-based features.
- Look elsewhere if your lawn is small and uncomplicated or you mainly want the least expensive way to automate mowing.
For maintenance, Mammotion lists Endurance Replacement Blades on its US product page. Confirm LUBA 3 compatibility for the exact blade and mower configuration before ordering.
