To translate a “More posts” label in Ghost, locate the text in the active theme, wrap standalone text with Ghost’s {{t}} helper, and add its exact key to the appropriate locale JSON file. If the label is part of a longer linked string, translate that complete key and preserve its placeholders. Set the publication language in Ghost Admin and declare it on the page’s opening <html> element.
Find the text the theme actually renders
Start with the active theme’s Handlebars templates rather than assuming that “More posts” is a built-in Ghost label. Search the theme’s .hbs files for the visible wording and identify whether it is a standalone label or part of a larger string containing a link, author name, or other dynamic content. Ghost’s translation guide explains the translation helper and locale-file format.
Do not confuse visible copy with a Handlebars variable. In Ghost’s read-next tutorial, more_posts is a block parameter for posts returned by {{#get}}; it is not necessarily the text displayed to readers. Inspect the template that renders the label to determine which translation key it needs.
Translate a standalone “More posts” label
For plain text in a theme template, wrap the words with {{t}}. For example, if the theme renders a simple link, use:

}Use a translation that suits the publication’s voice and context; have a fluent speaker review it. The key in the JSON file must match the text passed to {{t}}.

Keep linked text and placeholders together when the theme uses one full string
Some themes translate a complete string that includes both a link and a dynamic author name. Ghost’s locale example uses this key:

}If the active theme uses a full-string key like this, translate the whole string in the locale file and retain the placeholder names, such as {url} and {name}. Changing or omitting them can prevent the link destination or author name from being inserted as intended. Follow the key and markup your theme actually uses rather than replacing a full-string translation with a standalone key.

Set the publication and document languages
- In Ghost Admin, open Settings → General and set the publication language to the locale used by the theme’s translations.
- In the active theme’s
default.hbs, add the locale to the opening HTML element:<html lang="{{@site.locale}}"> - Check the theme’s
localesdirectory for the corresponding language JSON file and confirm that the required key is present. - Review visible text in the theme’s templates. Ghost specifically calls out
pagination.hbsandnavigation.hbsas templates to include when making a theme fully translatable; wrap plain text in those templates with{{t}}too. - Apply the theme changes using the deployment workflow for your Ghost installation. Ghost’s documentation says to restart Ghost after theme changes; on managed hosting, use the applicable deployment process rather than assuming you have access to a self-hosted restart command.
Check pagination separately if a “see all” link is missing
A translation change does not necessarily fix pagination or collection behavior. Ghost Forum contributors reported a case involving Source v1.4.1 in which a route configured at /, rather than a collection, disrupted a “see all” link. Treat that as a configuration- and version-specific example, not a general rule. If pagination behaves unexpectedly, check the active theme and version alongside the routes configuration.
