There is no reliable, evidence-based way to rank every electric kettle brand from worst to best: the available reviews test selected models, and the detailed brand-reliability scores from Which? are not publicly accessible. Based on the reviewed models, OXO makes the strongest all-around case, Fellow stands out for pour-over, and Amazon Basics is a sensible basic option. Treat these as model-specific recommendations—not verdicts on every kettle a brand sells.

How to read this ranking

This is a practical ranking of brands represented by reviewed models, ordered by the strength and breadth of the available evidence for common buying needs. It is not a statistically comparable brand league table. TechGearLab’s review, updated April 23, 2025, tested 15 products; Bon Appétit’s October 2026 review assessed a different selection. Their recommendations and observations use different lineups and methods, so a position here should guide which models to compare, not predict how every product from a brand performs. TechGearLab’s tested kettle lineup and Bon Appétit’s reviewed models show the model-level basis for the comparisons.

Reliability is a separate question from performance. Which? says its April 2025 survey covered 12,074 kettles and weights its reliability rating by proportion faulty (50%), average time to first fault (25%), and impact of faults on daily use (25%). Its detailed brand scores are member-gated, so the accessible information does not support naming a most- or least-reliable brand. Which?’s explanation of its kettle-brand reliability survey describes the method.

Major electric kettle brands, ranked by the reviewed models

1. OXO — strongest all-around case

TechGearLab named the OXO Brew Gooseneck its best overall kettle in its 15-model 2025 review. In that review’s boil-time table, the tested OXO Brew Gooseneck took 2.9 minutes; that result applies to that model and the review’s test conditions, not to every OXO kettle or a universal boil-time comparison. Bon Appétit also praises OXO’s kettle performance, adjustable temperature control, and controlled pouring. It is the most compelling starting point here for shoppers who want a capable kettle with temperature flexibility and a pour-friendly design.

  • Sleek & Stylish Design: Elevate your kitchen's aesthetic with this borosilicate glass water kettle, complemented by stainless steel accents and blue LED lights for a modern, sophisticated look.

2. Fellow — best specialist case for pour-over

TechGearLab includes the Fellow Stagg EKG among its leading products and records a 3.0-minute boil time for that model in its table. Bon Appétit describes the Corvo EKG as a well-performing small kettle with a temperature display and keep-warm controls. Fellow’s strength in this evidence is specialization and considered pouring, rather than serving as an obvious default for every household; check the specific model’s capacity and price against your needs.

3. Saki — feature-rich, but check exterior heat

Bon Appétit describes the Saki Luna Pro as a 1.75-liter kettle with one-degree temperature control. In its testing, the exterior became hot to the touch. That is a meaningful safety and handling trade-off, especially in a busy kitchen or around children; it is a finding about the Luna Pro reviewed, not a claim about every Saki model.

Rank #2
Cosori Electric Kettle, No Plastic Contact with Water, 1.7L, Black
  • No Plastic Contact with Your Water——With no plastic inside, water never touches plastic, ensuring a pure taste and safer drinking experience
  • Faster Than a Stovetop Kettle——Heats 0.5L (2 Cups) water in under 3 minutes for less wait time
  • Easy to Clean——Wide mouth and large-angle lid lets you reach every corner with ease
  • Safe & Easy to Use——Worry-free auto shut-off and boil-dry safety feature
  • Auto Shut-Off Safety——Automatically shuts off within 30 seconds after the water reaches a boil

4. Breville — capable, with model-dependent controls

Bon Appétit describes Breville’s 1.8-liter IQ as fast and feature-rich, but notes that its preset temperatures offer less flexibility than true degree-by-degree adjustment. The simpler Crystal Clear model has neither temperature settings nor a keep-warm function. Compare the exact Breville model against how often you need settings beyond a full boil rather than assuming the brand’s models share the same controls.

5. Zwilling — insulated option with presets

Bon Appétit describes the Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Kettle Pro as quiet and easy to clean, with temperature presets and a cool-touch exterior. Those features make it worth comparing if exterior heat, noise, or cleaning access matters more to you than precise one-degree adjustment. The review’s positive observations refer to this model.

Rank #3
Chefman Electric Kettle with Temperature Control, 5 Presets LED Indicator Lights, Removable Tea Infuser, Glass Tea Kettle & Hot Water Boiler, 360° Swivel Base, BPA Free, Stainless Steel, 1.8 Liters
  • FAST BOILING: Chefman kettles boil water fast. Boil your water for as little as 3 minutes for tea, hot chocolate, pour-over coffee, and other hot beverages.
  • VARIABLE HEAT SETTINGS: Custom temperature control includes seven presets with boiling temps ranging from 160-212°F for the perfect cup.
  • TRI-COLOR LED LIGHTS: Easily see when your glass teapot with infuser is in standby mode (white lights), heating mode (red lights), and in keep warm/steep mode (green lights).
  • STEEP LOOSE LEAF TEA: With the included removable tea infuser, you can steep a whole pot in our hot water kettle to serve multiple people efficiently.
  • CORDLESS CONVENIENCE: Our cord-free portable kettle for heating water allows you to serve guests in another room while leaving the base plugged in.

6. Cuisinart — compare features and value by model

Bon Appétit reports that the Cuisinart PerfecTemp heats quickly and is easy to pour from. Its Soho model is described as affordable and cool to the touch because of its double-wall design, but slower heating and louder operation were drawbacks. These are distinct models with different trade-offs, so a brand-level label would hide useful differences.

7. Hamilton Beach — credible value contender

Bon Appétit describes a Hamilton Beach 1.7-liter glass model with six temperature presets, keep-warm for up to 30 minutes, and boil-dry protection. Separately, TechGearLab’s test of the Hamilton Beach 40880 recorded a 3.2-minute boil time. Those details concern different models and review protocols where specified; do not treat the 40880 result as the performance of the 1.7-liter glass kettle.

Rank #4

  • US-BASED CUSTOMER SERVICE LETS YOU BUY WITH CONFIDENCE – OVENTE warranties that the product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and conditions, for 2 years from the original purchase date.

8. Amazon Basics — best basic position in this evidence set

TechGearLab called its tested Amazon Basics kettle the best basic kettle and recorded a 2.7-minute boil time in its table. The result is specific to the tested model and conditions. A straightforward kettle can be the better fit if you mainly need water boiled and do not need adjustable temperatures, a gooseneck spout, or keep-warm controls. This review result does not make Amazon Basics the overall best brand.

What the boil-time figures do—and do not—tell you

TechGearLab’s 2025 table reports these model-level results: Amazon Basics, 2.7 minutes; OXO Brew Gooseneck, 2.9 minutes; Fellow Stagg EKG, 3.0 minutes; and Bonavita 1.0L, 5.4 minutes. These are results from that review’s test protocol, not a guarantee for another amount of water, model generation, market, or household voltage. A faster result also does not establish better temperature control, pouring, reliability, or value.

Consumer Reports’ January 2026 review is described in its search-result summary as finding that its tested kettles boiled one liter in about 4 to 5½ minutes, across a set that included brands such as Amazon Basics, Breville, Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach, and OXO. Because the review page could not be directly accessed for verification, that range should be treated cautiously rather than as a precise, directly confirmed comparison with TechGearLab’s figures. Consumer Reports’ 2026 electric-kettle review is the cited source.

Choose by the job you need the kettle to do

For everyday boiling

Start with the capacity you actually use, then compare boil time for a similar amount of water. The Amazon Basics model in TechGearLab’s review is a basic-value candidate; Hamilton Beach offers reviewed models with additional presets and safety features. Neither brand’s single model result settles the performance of its full range.

For pour-over coffee or precise temperatures

Compare the OXO Brew Gooseneck and Fellow Stagg EKG for controlled pouring, and check the exact temperature adjustment and capacity on the model you are considering. A gooseneck spout can suit deliberate pouring, but it may be less convenient than a wider-opening general-purpose kettle for filling several cups quickly.

For a cooler-touch exterior or quieter operation

Look at the specific construction and review observations, not just the brand. Bon Appétit describes the Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Kettle Pro as cool-touch and quiet, and the Cuisinart Soho as cool-touch but slower and louder. Saki’s Luna Pro, by contrast, had an exterior that became hot to the touch in Bon Appétit’s testing.

What to compare before buying

  • Capacity: Match the kettle’s volume to your usual use; a compact specialist may be inconvenient if you often boil for several people.
  • Temperature controls: Distinguish selectable presets from adjustable degree-by-degree settings. A basic boil-only kettle may be sufficient if you do not make drinks that benefit from different water temperatures.
  • Pouring: Consider whether you need a narrow, controlled pour or a conventional spout for general kitchen use.
  • Keep-warm function: Check whether the model includes it and for how long; the reviewed Hamilton Beach glass model offers up to 30 minutes, while the Breville Crystal Clear lacks this function.
  • Handling and noise: Double-wall or cool-touch construction can affect surface temperature, while review observations may flag noise or slower heating.
  • Protection and cleaning: Check for boil-dry protection and whether the lid, opening, and limescale filter are accessible for cleaning. Do not assume a feature is present across a brand’s entire range.
  • Current price, warranty, and availability: These vary by model, seller, and market; verify the exact product listing and local warranty terms before buying.

Bottom line on the “worst to best” question

The evidence supports model-specific choices, not a defensible universal ranking of every major kettle brand. OXO has the strongest all-around case among the reviewed models, Fellow is a strong specialist option for pour-over, and Amazon Basics is a reasonable basic-kettle candidate. For reliability, the accessible Which? material explains its survey method but does not reveal brand scores, so no brand can be fairly declared the most or least reliable from that source.
