A live-blog report published October 9, 2026, named Wizards of the Coast’s newly announced Marvel-related Magic set Darkhold Destiny and described it as “a completely original take on Marvel.” The report said no cards or mechanics had been announced at that point, so details about the set remain unconfirmed in the available coverage.
What is Darkhold Destiny?
A live-blog report credited to IGN author Jacqueline Thomas says the announced set is called Darkhold Destiny and characterizes it as an original Marvel take. That characterization is the reporter’s description, not a direct quotation from Wizards of the Coast. Wizards’ official New York Comic Con page confirms a Magic panel and the broader Marvel collaboration, but does not name Darkhold Destiny.
The report did not identify characters, card designs, set size, release timing, formats, or preorder information. Those details should not be inferred from the set name or from other Marvel-themed Magic products.
Were cards or mechanics revealed?
No. The live blog said cards and mechanics had not been announced when it reported the set name. Its pre-panel speculation about what the event might reveal—including the possibility of a Secret Lair-only announcement—was not confirmation.

The same event listing included a traditional-foil Roadshow: So Salty Secret Lair drop featuring Expropriate, Narset, Parter of Veils, Worst Fears, Scrawling Crawler, and Winter Orb. It also listed a Star Trek Welcome Deck and Reality Fracture activity. These listings do not establish a connection to the reported Marvel set.
