Lumene says its Silent Motor produces less than 35 dB of noise and is twice as quiet as a standard screen motor. Those are manufacturer claims, not independently verified measurements: Lumene does not publish a test method or comparison data on its Silent Motor feature page. The Coliseum range also comes in different screen fabrics, sizes and control configurations, so the motor claim alone does not identify the right model for a particular projector or room.
How quiet is the Lumene Silent Motor?
Lumene describes the Silent Motor as quieter and smoother in operation, with noise emission below 35 dB. It also calls it twice as quiet as a standard screen motor. The feature page gives no measurement conditions, test protocol or independent comparison, so treat both figures as Lumene’s claims rather than a guaranteed in-room noise level. Room acoustics, seating position and other equipment can affect what you hear.
Lumene says the motor has an optimized brake system intended to extend motor life. The feature page does not give a lifespan figure. It names Coliseum UHD 4K and Coliseum UHD 4K/8K Platinum among the references equipped with the Silent Motor; check the exact configuration before purchase rather than assuming every screen in the broader Coliseum family has identical specifications.

ALR means ambient light rejecting, but the UST and LT versions are not interchangeable: the projector’s throw type and placement matter. Lumene’s product page lists sizes across the range from 200C through 400C, but availability and image dimensions differ by fabric. For example, its table lists a 92-inch projection diagonal for UHD 4K 200C and 158 inches for UHD 4K 350C. These are variant-specific manufacturer figures, not dimensions that should be carried over to other fabrics or sizes.
What size and installation details should you check?
- Screen image size: Use the dimensions in the row for the exact fabric and size you are considering. A size code alone does not guarantee the same diagonal across variants.
- Casing clearance: Compare the chosen model’s casing dimensions with the available mounting space, not just the projected image diagonal.
- Projector fit: Confirm throw type, installation height and fabric compatibility—especially for ALR UST and Extra Bright LT.
- Model documents: Lumene’s documents index lists technical sheets and user manuals for Coliseum UHD 4K, UHD 4K Acoustic, UHD 4K/8K Platinum and Extra Bright UST/LT variants. Use the documentation for the precise model for installation and electrical details.
What controls and connections are included?
Lumene’s product page lists an included remote, an IR sensor, RS232 connectivity and a supplied 12 V trigger cable. These options cover different control needs: the remote provides direct operation, while RS232 or a trigger connection may be relevant to a projector or home-automation setup. Confirm the exact model’s documentation and package contents, and verify compatibility with the equipment you plan to connect.

What does the Lumene Coliseum cost?
Lumene’s product page displayed a starting price of €1,729 when accessed in 2026. It is a changeable listing, not a guaranteed price for every size, fabric, market or purchase date; check the current price and exact configuration with the seller.

Is a Coliseum Silent screen the right choice?
The Silent Motor claim may matter if motor noise is a concern, but it does not replace the more basic checks: match the fabric to projector throw type and room layout, verify the actual image and casing dimensions, and make sure the control connections suit the installation. Lumene’s stated noise level and relative comparison are not accompanied by independent measurements, so they cannot establish how loud a particular screen will seem in your room.
