The Logitech MX Master 3S is an excellent productivity mouse if you want a large, right-handed design with quiet clicks, outstanding scrolling, programmable controls, and switching between three computers. Its 141 g weight and bulky shape are the main trade-offs, and it is not designed for competitive gaming or frequent travel.
Verdict: The Logitech MX Master 3S is one of the strongest productivity mice for right-handed users who want a comfortable, substantial design, quiet clicks, excellent scrolling, programmable controls, and easy switching between up to three computers. It is not the right choice for everyone: the 141 g body is bulky compared with travel and gaming mice, smaller hands may struggle with it, and its sensor and polling behavior are not designed for competitive gaming.
The Logitech MX Master 3S makes the most sense for office work, programming, creative applications, research, and multi-monitor setups. Its best features are workflow features rather than raw speed: MagSpeed scrolling, a horizontal thumbwheel, gesture control, application-specific shortcuts, and Bluetooth or Logi Bolt connectivity.

What is the Logitech MX Master 3S?
The MX Master 3S is a rechargeable wireless mouse designed primarily for desktop productivity. It has a large, sculpted right-handed shape with a thumb rest, a vertical scroll wheel, a separate horizontal thumbwheel, back and forward buttons, and a gesture button beneath the thumb.
It connects either through Bluetooth Low Energy or Logitech’s Logi Bolt USB receiver system. The Standard Edition normally includes the mouse, a Logi Bolt receiver, a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable, and documentation. Logitech also documents a Bluetooth Edition that omits the receiver, so check the exact listing and box contents before ordering.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDesign and comfort: excellent for the right hands, oversized for others
The MX Master 3S’s defining characteristic is its shape. It supports the palm rather than asking the user to control a small, low-profile shell with their fingertips. The thumb rest gives the hand a stable platform, while the thumbwheel and side buttons put horizontal navigation and common commands within reach.
That design is comfortable for many medium-to-large right-handed users, particularly during long office sessions. Independent testing and review coverage describe the mouse as comfortable and well-built for productivity. However, “ergonomic” does not mean universally comfortable. Hand size, grip style, desk posture, and how much pressure a user places on the thumb can change the experience significantly.
At about 141 g, it is also heavy. The weight makes the mouse feel planted on a desk, but it is a disadvantage for anyone accustomed to lightweight pointing devices. It takes more space in a bag and is less convenient for frequent travel. Left-handed users should look elsewhere because the body and control layout are specifically right-handed.
Clicks and scrolling
Quiet primary clicks
Logitech’s main change from the previous MX Master generation is quieter primary clicking. The reduced click sound is useful in shared offices, libraries, meetings, and homes where another person’s concentration matters. The clicks remain distinct enough for normal work, although users who prefer a loud, sharply tactile switch may not find the sound or feel particularly exciting.

- The package offers a comprehensive set and warranty. It includes: 1 Anker Wireless Vertical Ergonomic Optical Mouse (2 AAA batteries not included), 1 2.4G USB receiver (stored in the mouse's bottom), 1 instruction manual. We extend an 18-month hassle-free warranty for your peace of mind.
MagSpeed scroll wheel
The MagSpeed wheel is one of the mouse’s best productivity features. It can move between precise, notched scrolling and a fast free-spinning mode. Notched scrolling is useful when selecting a line, row, or small section of a document; free-spin mode lets the user move quickly through long web pages, spreadsheets, or code files.
The wheel-mode button changes how the wheel behaves, and Logi Options+ can be used to adjust related behavior. This is more useful in real work than a high maximum DPI number because it reduces friction when moving through long documents.
Horizontal thumbwheel and gestures
The dedicated thumbwheel handles horizontal navigation. It is particularly helpful for wide spreadsheets, timelines, image canvases, editing interfaces, and large documents. The gesture button adds another layer of control: holding it while moving the mouse can trigger commands such as window management or desktop switching, depending on the selected configuration.
Sensor and everyday performance
Logitech rates the Darkfield sensor from 200 to 8,000 DPI and promotes its ability to track on glass that meets the company’s stated requirements. The high-resolution range can be useful on large, high-resolution, or multi-monitor displays, where a faster pointer setting reduces the distance the hand must travel.
Recommended Free Tools
For office work, programming, design applications, browsing, and general cursor control, the sensor specification is more than sufficient. Glass tracking can also be convenient when a conventional mouse surface is unavailable. Logitech’s glass-tracking statement is a manufacturer claim, however, and should not be treated as a guarantee for every type of glass, surface treatment, or surrounding environment.
Do not confuse 8,000 DPI with gaming performance. DPI describes pointer sensitivity; it does not tell you the polling rate, click latency, motion handling, or suitability for fast competitive play. The MX Master 3S is tuned around productivity and control rather than minimum delay and low weight.

Logi Options+: where the mouse becomes more useful
The hardware is capable by itself, but Logi Options+ is what makes the MX Master 3S a workflow tool. On supported Windows and macOS systems, the software can provide:
- Button remapping and custom actions
- Application-specific profiles
- Gesture configuration
- Logitech Flow for moving between computers
- Smart Actions for sequences of commands
- Logi AI Prompt Builder support, according to Logitech’s current software-support documentation
Application-specific settings are particularly valuable. For example, the thumbwheel can be assigned to horizontal scrolling in a spreadsheet, brush-size adjustment in a graphics application, or timeline movement in an editor. The side buttons might navigate browser history in one application and switch tools or perform editing commands in another.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Users on Linux, Chrome OS, mobile operating systems, or tablets may still get basic cursor and button functionality, but should not assume that every Logi Options+ feature is available. If extensive remapping is essential, Windows or macOS is the safer platform choice.
Multi-device switching and connectivity
The MX Master 3S can pair with and switch among up to three computers. A device-switching button on the underside lets users move between systems, such as a work laptop, personal desktop, and secondary computer. This is a meaningful advantage for people who regularly divide their work across machines.
Bluetooth is convenient for laptops and tablets without a free USB-A port. Logi Bolt is the better option when a dedicated receiver connection is preferred or Bluetooth pairing is restricted by an organization’s setup. Logitech lists a wireless range of up to 10 meters, but actual results depend on interference, the computer, the receiver’s position, and the surrounding environment.
One compatibility detail is easy to miss: Logi Bolt receivers are not cross-compatible with older Logitech Unifying receivers. An existing Unifying dongle cannot simply be substituted for the MX Master 3S’s Logi Bolt receiver.

When changing the DPI, the light will flash, with the number of flashes corresponding to the DPI level.
- 【Silent Mouse】This computer mouse operates quietly, allowing for usage even in quiet environments like libraries. Note: We recommend using branded batteries to ensure the mouse's longevity. When the battery is low, the LED light will blink (Requires 2 AAA batteries, not included).
Battery life and charging
The mouse has a rechargeable 500 mAh Li-Po battery that cannot be replaced by the user. Logitech claims up to 70 days of use from a full charge, depending on usage. Logitech also says that approximately three minutes of charging can provide about one day of use.
Those are manufacturer estimates, not independent endurance measurements. Actual battery life varies with usage, connection method, settings, battery age, and other conditions, so the figures should be treated as guidance rather than a guarantee.
The charging port is USB-C, but the Standard Edition’s supplied cable is USB-A-to-USB-C. That is adequate for charging from many computers and common USB power sources, although users whose setup is entirely USB-C may prefer a different cable. A replacement USB-C charging cable is a sensible backup only if the included cable is lost or damaged; it is not a necessary extra purchase for a new Standard Edition buyer.
Is the MX Master 3S good for gaming?
It can handle casual games and ordinary cursor-based play, and its programmable buttons may appeal to some strategy or MMO users. It is not a good recommendation for competitive FPS or other fast-twitch gaming.
Independent testing identifies only decent click latency, a low fixed polling rate, substantial weight, and a sensor that is not intended for gaming. Those limitations matter when rapid, consistent movement and the lowest possible input delay are priorities. A dedicated gaming mouse will generally be lighter and designed around higher polling rates, gaming-oriented sensor behavior, and faster click response.
Who should buy the Logitech MX Master 3S?
- Office users: The quiet clicks, thumb controls, scrolling modes, and comfortable palm support suit long desk sessions.
- Programmers and researchers: Free-spin scrolling, horizontal navigation, and application profiles help with long files, documentation, and multiple windows.
- Design and editing users: The thumbwheel and customizable controls can be assigned to timelines, canvases, tools, or other application commands.
- Multi-computer users: Switching among three paired computers can reduce the need for separate mice.
- Medium-to-large right-handed users: The substantial body is most likely to feel supportive rather than cumbersome in this group.
Who should avoid it?
- Small-handed users: The large shell and thumb-control placement may be difficult to reach or control comfortably.
- Frequent travelers: Its size and weight make it less portable than compact or lightweight mice.
- Left-handed users: The shape and controls are designed for the right hand.
- Competitive gamers: Choose a gaming-specific mouse for lower weight, higher polling behavior, and lower click latency.
- Anyone requiring a replaceable battery: The internal 500 mAh battery is rechargeable but not user-replaceable.
Buying advice: check the edition before ordering
The most important purchase detail is whether the listing is the Standard Edition or Bluetooth Edition. The Standard Edition includes a Logi Bolt receiver and charging cable. The Bluetooth Edition omits the receiver, which may be preferable for a laptop user who has Bluetooth and wants fewer accessories, but is a problem for anyone expecting a USB dongle in the box.
Best Value
- Perfect Fit for Small to Medium Hands: Designed specifically for hand lengths under 7.5 inches (19.05 cm), the EM11 NL reduces wrist strain by aligning with your natural grip. Please measure the size before ordering for a better fit and more comfort
- Connect up to 3 Devices: This ergonomic wireless mouse features dual Bluetooth connectivity and 2.4G USB-A connectivity modes for simultaneous connection of up to 3 different devices, and is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 10 or higher, Mac OS X 10.12 or higher, and Android 4.3 or higher
- Rechargeable Ergonomic Mouse: The Bluetooth Vertical Mouse has a built-in 500mAh Li-Ion battery that can be conveniently recharged using the included Type-C cable(The Type-C cable is for charging only)
- Ergonomic Vertical Design: The ergonomic mouse wireless keeps your wrist naturally straight, putting your forearm and wrist in a more natural and relaxed position, which can reduce discomfort and strain, helping to improve productivity and reduce the risk of repetitive strain injuries compared to a standard mouse. Warm tips: We encourage you to relax your palm and hold the mouse naturally when using a vertical mouse
- Learning curve: Since it takes a learning curve to get used to the shape when using our ergonomic mouse for the first time, it may cause inconvenience to your mouse grip, We recommend that you take 1-2 weeks to get used to it, as many users find that it will help reduce the pressure and pain on your wrist caused by long-term use of the mouse and improve comfort
Before completing a purchase, verify:
- The edition and included accessories
- Whether your computer has Bluetooth or an available USB-A port
- That you are buying a Logi Bolt receiver rather than an older Unifying receiver
- The return policy if you are uncertain about the large shape or hand fit
- Current price, availability, color, and regional warranty terms, which can change
Receiver and cable replacements
If you bought the Bluetooth Edition but later want a dedicated USB connection, or if you lost the original dongle, look for a replacement Logi Bolt receiver that explicitly supports the MX Master 3S. Do not buy a Logitech Unifying receiver expecting it to work: the two receiver systems are different and are not cross-compatible.
The Standard Edition already includes a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable. Owners who lose or damage it can use a compatible replacement USB-C charging cable, provided it has the appropriate USB-A host connector for the charging setup. This is a replacement-accessory issue, not a reason most new buyers need to add a cable to their order.

The MX Master 3S remains a compelling productivity mouse when its large right-handed design fits the user. Quiet primary clicks, MagSpeed scrolling, a horizontal thumbwheel, gesture control, multi-device switching, broad customization, and long claimed battery life give it capabilities that a basic wireless mouse does not.
Its weaknesses are not hidden: it is heavy, comparatively bulky, unsuitable for left-handed use, potentially awkward for smaller hands, and a poor choice for competitive gaming. Buy it for comfort and workflow control—not for portability, esports performance, or a replaceable battery.
