Loewe’s Neo is a newly announced portable Bluetooth speaker that puts industrial design, interchangeable exterior pieces and configurable lighting ahead of conventional speaker styling. Launch coverage reports 50 W music power and IP67 protection, but battery life is not yet consistently confirmed. At the reported €400/£400 price, Neo is a premium design object as much as an audio product—not a proven sound-quality leader.
What is the Loewe Neo?
Neo is Loewe’s new portable wireless speaker, announced for the premium end of the Bluetooth market. Its defining features are an aluminium housing, modular outer elements, adjustable lighting and software controls rather than a conventional fabric-covered cylinder.
Loewe CEO Aslan Khabliev described the concept as combining “exceptional acoustic power, intelligent lighting, and unprecedented customisation.” That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent assessment of sound quality.
Reported specifications and features
| Feature | What launch coverage reports | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 50 W music power | A reported specification, not an independent measurement |
| Protection | IP67 | Indicates dust protection and temporary immersion protection when tested to the rating; real-world use still depends on the product’s instructions |
| Construction | Aluminium body with interchangeable exterior pieces or grilles | Details come from launch reports; an official product page was not available in the cited coverage |
| Controls | Touch controls, app control, three sound presets and separate bass/treble adjustment | Reported feature set |
| Lighting | Adjustable light strip | Brightness, effects and app options may depend on final software |
| Carrying accessories | Detachable leather strap and felt case | Reported inclusions; regional package contents should be checked |
| Wireless features | Bluetooth; What Hi-Fi? also reports Auracast | Codec support was not disclosed in HIFI.DE’s report |
| Battery life | 12 hours in What Hi-Fi?; not communicated by Loewe according to Frandroid | Conflicting launch information; treat battery life as unconfirmed |
What Hi-Fi?’s article contains one sentence that calls the speaker “Leo”; its headline, image and surrounding copy identify the product as Neo. The Neo name is used here.

Why Neo looks different from ordinary portable speakers
Customisable exterior
Rather than treating the enclosure as fixed, Neo is reported to use interchangeable outer elements or grilles. That gives owners a way to change its appearance and reinforces Loewe’s design-led positioning. Coverage does not establish the range of available colours, the price of individual parts or whether every style will be sold in every country.
Lighting as a control and ambience feature
An adjustable light strip is part of the concept. The app is expected to control lighting alongside sound settings, allowing the speaker to function as an illuminated room accessory as well as a portable audio system. No independent evaluation establishes how bright it is, how long lighting affects runtime or how many effects the final software will provide.
Rank #2
- Wireless Bluetooth streaming
- 12 hours of playtime
- IPX7 waterproof
- Pair multiple speakers with party boost
- Premium JBL sound quality
Premium carry hardware
The detachable leather strap is intended for carrying, while the reported felt case offers storage and protection. These details make Neo more suitable for moving between rooms or taking to a destination than a purely furniture-oriented wireless speaker, although its final weight and dimensions were not stated in the available coverage.
Battery life is the key unresolved specification
Do not treat 12 hours as a settled Neo specification. What Hi-Fi? reports that figure, while Frandroid says Loewe had not communicated battery life. HIFI.DE likewise says battery life was undisclosed at publication. Until Loewe publishes an official specification sheet, the safest conclusion is that Neo’s runtime is unknown.

The eventual number will also need context: volume, lighting use, wireless mode and whether the figure is a continuous-play estimate can materially change portable-speaker endurance. Buyers who need all-day operation should wait for Loewe’s rated conditions rather than compare the unconfirmed 12-hour figure with competitors’ “up to” claims.
Neo versus Loewe’s We. HEAR pro
Frandroid provides a useful price-and-specification comparison with Loewe’s existing We. HEAR pro. This is a comparison of reported claims, not a head-to-head listening or durability test.

| Model | Reported price | Stated output | Battery claim | Water/dust rating | Design emphasis |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Loewe Neo | €400 in continental Europe; £400 in the UK | 50 W | Not confirmed collectively; one report says 12 hours | IP67 | Aluminium, interchangeable elements, lighting, leather strap and felt case |
| Loewe We. HEAR pro | €269 | 100 W | Up to 24 hours, as reported by Frandroid | IPX6 | Less emphasis on Neo’s reported modular lighting concept |
On the published figures alone, the We. HEAR pro offers a lower reported price, higher stated music power and a disclosed “up to” runtime. Neo offers the stronger ingress rating on paper and a more elaborate customization-and-lighting package. Neither source establishes which sounds better, plays louder in a real room or lasts longer under identical settings.

Who should consider the Neo?
- Design-focused buyers: Choose it if an aluminium object, interchangeable styling and integrated lighting matter as much as conventional speaker specifications.
- Portable users needing weather resistance: The reported IP67 rating is more comprehensive than IPX6 because it includes dust protection, but confirm operating and charging guidance before using it outdoors.
- Listeners who want manual tuning: The reported app presets and separate bass/treble controls provide more adjustment than a speaker with only a physical volume control.
- Battery-first buyers: Wait for an official runtime and its test conditions. Neo is not yet the safe choice for an all-day specification comparison.
- Value seekers: The reported €269 We. HEAR pro has stronger published output and runtime numbers, while Neo’s premium is directed toward materials, customization and lighting.
What remains unknown before launch
- Official battery capacity, runtime test conditions and charging time
- Bluetooth codecs and the final Auracast implementation
- Weight, dimensions and whether the felt case and leather strap are included in every region
- Prices and availability of replacement grilles or exterior elements
- Maximum volume, frequency response, stereo pairing and multi-speaker features
- Independent listening, loudness, distortion and durability results
The available launch coverage establishes a distinctive product concept and several reported headline specifications, but it does not establish comparative sound quality. Those unanswered details should decide whether Neo’s premium is justified for your use.
