You generally can’t legitimately bypass the Google lock on an Onn tablet. After a protected reset, Android Factory Reset Protection (FRP) may require the screen lock or a Google Account previously added and synced to the tablet. The supported path is to sign in with that account or recover it through Google—not to use a new account or a bypass tool.
What the “Google lock” means
If setup asks you to verify a Google Account after a reset, the tablet is likely enforcing Factory Reset Protection. Google explains that a protected device reset with its buttons can require its PIN, password, pattern, or a Google Account previously added and synced to it. Without the required ownership information, you may not be able to use the device after the reset. Google’s device-protection guidance describes the general Android requirement; it is not an Onn-specific guide.
A Google Account created after the reset—or one that was never added and synced to this tablet—does not satisfy that check. Google’s guidance also excludes guest accounts from the qualifying account requirement.
Try the account that was previously synced
- On a separate phone or computer, identify the Google Accounts previously used on the Onn tablet. If more than one person used it, consider accounts added as a user as well as the owner’s account.
- If you can sign in to the likely account, return to the tablet’s setup flow. Connect to Wi-Fi if prompted, then enter that previously synced account when asked to verify ownership.
- Follow the prompts shown on the tablet. Exact screens can vary by Onn model and Android version; the available guidance does not establish a universal Onn setup sequence.
If you forgot the username or password
Use Google Account recovery to find the username or recover access to the account. Once you regain access, use that same previously synced account on the tablet. A different, newly created account will not replace it.

Google warns against services that claim to provide account or password support. Do not give a seller, commenter, or unlock service your password, verification code, or account-recovery code. Google’s recovery guidance is the appropriate route for regaining access.
If you recently changed the password
Don’t keep resetting the tablet in the hope of clearing the lock: a factory reset erases local data and does not remove the ownership check. Google advises waiting 24 hours after a recent Google Account password change before performing a factory reset. That advice is not a guarantee of a specific FRP retry interval or an Onn-specific unlock outcome. Google’s reset guidance explains the reset and password-change caution.

Data stored only on the tablet is erased by a factory reset. Backups associated with the Google Account may be available after you successfully sign in, but repeating the reset does not preserve or restore local files and app data.
If the Onn tablet is secondhand
Contact the seller or previous owner and ask them to help establish ownership—for example, by identifying the account that was synced to the tablet or working with you on the legitimate handoff. If they cannot help, contact the seller or Onn/Walmart support and ask what ownership documentation or service process applies. Have proof of purchase available, but do not assume a receipt guarantees that the lock can be removed.

Google’s general Android Enterprise guidance says to contact the manufacturer about an FRP-locked device when no enterprise recovery method was configured. That is general guidance, not confirmation of an Onn-specific unlocking service or policy. Google’s Android Enterprise FRP information provides that broader context.
Why not use a “bypass” tool?
Instructions or services that claim to defeat FRP are not a supported substitute for proving ownership and recovering the associated account. They may expose your credentials or codes, and the Google recovery guidance specifically cautions against account-support services. Avoid downloading bypass files or paying someone who promises an unlock.

A Google Account Community reply dated May 3, 2020, from a Google Product Expert Alumni—not a Google employee—said there was no way to bypass FRP and directed the user to account recovery. That is a community response, not a current Onn policy or a direct corporate statement. Read the community response.

The available guidance does not establish an Onn-specific FRP removal procedure, universal recovery-button combination, receipt-based unlock process, or service guarantee. Do not apply button instructions from another tablet model as if they were verified for your Onn device. Use the exact model’s current support instructions for model-specific help.
