Littelfuse agreed in November 2015 to buy TE Connectivity’s Circuit Protection Devices business for $350 million in cash, then completed the acquisition on March 25, 2016. The deal covered a specific circuit-protection operation—not all of TE Connectivity or every product sold under TE or Raychem branding.
What Littelfuse bought
The acquired business specialized in polymer-based resettable circuit-protection devices used in automotive, battery, industrial, communications, and mobile-computing markets. Littelfuse described the operation as having a leading position in those devices when it announced the agreement. Littelfuse’s November 9, 2015 announcement outlined the transaction and its strategic rationale.
TE Connectivity reported approximately $190 million in fiscal 2015 revenue for the business. That is a historical figure reported by TE at the time, not a current revenue measure. TE’s announcement said the sale supported its focus on harsh-environment connectivity and sensor solutions.

Where the operation was based
At closing, the acquired operation was directed from Menlo Park, California, with manufacturing in Tsukuba, Japan, and Shanghai and Kunshan, China, according to the SEC filing.
What happened to PolySwitch and the other product families
At closing, Littelfuse said it would continue producing and selling PolySwitch, 2Pro, PolyZen, and other products included in the acquisition. That statement confirms the company’s post-close plan at the time; it does not establish whether every product or part number remains available today in every region.

Littelfuse’s 2026 annual report describes a broader current portfolio that includes resettable fuses and notes that some industrial products are sold through electrical and electronics distribution channels. It does not map each acquired product family to current SKUs, inventory, or regional availability. Littelfuse’s 2026 annual report provides that company-level portfolio context.
Why the companies said the deal made sense
For Littelfuse, the acquisition expanded its circuit-protection portfolio and its presence in automotive electronics and battery markets. CEO Gordon Hunter called the business “an excellent strategic fit with Littelfuse” in the announcement.

TE’s stated rationale was different: it said investment was better directed toward harsh-environment connectivity and sensor applications. These were the companies’ strategic explanations at announcement, rather than evidence about the deal’s later financial performance.

Littelfuse estimated an approximately 20% EBITDA margin for the acquired business. The company identified EBITDA margin as a non-GAAP measure and said a reconciliation was unavailable without unreasonable effort. It also forecast at least $10 million in annual cost synergies starting in 2017. That was a forward-looking expectation at announcement, not a verified savings result in the cited material.
